GATE 2022: Online Applications to Begin on 30 August, Check Important Details

Online applications for GATE 2022 examinations are all set to begin from 30 August 2021 onwards. Students, who wish to obtain GATE 2022 scores for seeking admission into the master’s program and recruitment by some public sector companies, will have to submit online applications before 24 September 2021. Applications, however, will be accepted until 1 October 2021 with a late fee. GATE 2022 is being organised by the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (IIT Kharagpur).

Along with IIT Kharagpur, six other institutes namely IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Madras, IIT Roorkee and the Indian Institute of Science at Bengaluru will conducted GATE 2022 on behalf of the National Coordination Board GATE, The Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India. This time, two new papers namely Geomatics Engineering (GE) and Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering (NM) have also been introduced.

Important Details on GATE 2022

Interested students can take a look at the following important details with regard to the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering:

• GATE 2022 can be taken by any undergraduate student currently in the third year or higher years of any government-approved program in engineering, technology, architecture, arts, commerce or science.
• There is no age limit to appear for GATE 2022, and one can appear for the test multiple times.

• Candidates are free to choose any of the papers, and they will be allowed to choose up to two from the given combinations. However, it would be prudent on the part of applicants to select papers appropriate to the discipline of the qualifying degree.
• One e-mail address can be used to submit only one application form.
• The two papers option may be selected based on the given set of combinations in a single form only.

Details Required to Apply for GATE 2022

The following are some of the details needed to apply for the examination:

• Address for communication including PIN code.
• Eligibility degree details.
• College name and address with PIN code.
• High quality image of candidate’s photograph conforming to the requirements specified.
• Good quality image of candidate’s signature conforming to the requirements specified.
• Scanned copy of valid photo Identity Document, which also needs to be carried to the examination hall.
• Scanned copy of Category or PwD certificate as applicable.
• Net-banking, debit card, credit card or wallet details for fee payment.
• The application fee is Rs 750 per paper for female, SC, ST or PwD category candidates and Rs 1500 for the rest.
