GATE 2021: Last Date for Online Application Extended with Regular Fees, Here Are the Details

The last date for online applications for GATE 2021, which was originally 30 September 2020, has now been extended with regular fees

The last date for online applications for GATE 2021 has now been extended. While the earlier last date was 30 September 2020, students can now apply for the examinations with regular fees until 7 October 2020. The end of the extended period for online registration with late fees, however, is still 12 October 2020. The GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) portal was opened on 14 September for students to apply for the examinations online.

GATE 2021 scores are a mandatory requirement for students looking for admission or financial assistance to postgraduate and doctoral degrees with the Ministry of Education (MoE) and other government scholarships or assistantships. GATE scores are also compulsory for job opportunities in pre-eminent institutes such as the Defence Research and Development Organisation, Indian Space Research Organisation, and so on.

Mandatory Requirements for GATE 2021

  • A candidate who is currently studying in third or higher years of any undergraduate degree program or has already completed any government-approved degree program in engineering, technology, architecture, science, commerce or arts is eligible for appearing in the GATE 2021 exam.
  • GATE 2021 online application needs to be submitted online on the official GOAPS website, and no hard copy of the application needs to be sent.
  • The photograph, signature, category certificate, Dyslexic certificate, and so on would need to be uploaded while filling the online application where it is needed.
  • A valid photo identity card such as Aadhaar, Passport, PAN Card, Voter, ID, College ID, Employee ID or Driving License would be needed. Students would have to procure these documents prior to filling the application.
  • There is no age limit to appear for GATE 2021, and the scores will be valid for three years.
  • TWO new papers called “Environmental Science & Engineering (ES)” and “Humanities & Social Sciences (XH)” are being introduced in GATE 2021.
