Ever since Vishal Sikka left software giant SAP last year to join the IT services major Infosys as its CEO, a slew of SAP officials have followed his footsteps. After the top talents from SAP like Sanjay Rajagopalan, Navin Budhiraja, Michael Reh, Ritika Suri and Abdul Razak, the latest one to enter the Infosys family is SAP Security CTO, Gordon Muehl. Muehl is reportedly leaving the German company to take up an executive role at Infosys, according to a Bloomberg report.

"The appointment underscores a growing need in India's over $100 billion software outsourcing sector to ensure safer internal IT systems as well as more robust software products”---the report stated.

In his earlier stint at SAP, Muehl had reported to Vishal Sikka for seven years. At Infosys, he is said to be stepping in as Vice President focusing on business development and customers’ technology projects.

Since his appointment last year Sikka has been quite focused on beefing up the company’s technology capabilities and has been on the prowl for acquisitions in areas like automation and Artificial Intelligence(AI). The recent big ticket acquisition of automation company, Panaya was a step in this direction. Security is a key concern for technology companies and their customers at present, and the new appointment is believed to be a key step in enhancing the security aspect of the company.
