BSNL Recruitment 2022 for Engineers

In June 2015, BSNL had announced an ambitious project of setting up 40,000 WiFi spots across the country by the year 2018. The investment for this activity is estimated to be Rs 6,000 crore. In 2015, BSNL said that it will setup 2500 WiFi hotspots at 250 locations at a project outlay of Rs 500 crore.

Now, in a push to accelerate Internet connectivity across India, Facebook has decided to partner BSNL in its plan to setup WiFi hotspots. BSNL's MD Anupam Shrivastava said that Facebook has decided to sponsor 100 WiFi hotspots in villages. Facebook will offer Rs 5 lakh per BSNL WiFi hotspot per annum. For 100 WiFi hotspots, this amounts to Rs 5 crore per annum. Shrivastava claimed that under the terms of the agreement, close to 25 WiFi hotspots have already been setup.
