Satyam Opens Facility in Vizag
Satyam Computer Services, a leading global consulting and information technology
services company, has opened its first facility in this port city, Vizag. The
chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, YS Rajasekhara Reddy, inaugurated the 6.5-acre
campus at Resapuvani Palem. The Vizag center, the second Satyam facility in
Andhra Pradesh, will employ about 750 associates during its first phase; 1,300
more will join before Phase II is complete. These professionals will deliver a
broad range of services, led by information technology and business process
outsourcing for customers in Asia and Europe.
Hexaware Plans New Campus
Pune-based software services company Hexaware Technologies is planning to set up
a Rs 150-crore campus at Pune's Hinjewadi IT Park where it will employ around
3,000 software professionals. The facility is expected to be operational by
2009. Rusi Brij, vice-chairman and CEO, says that the company acquired
twenty-five acres of land in the third phase of Hinjewadi IT Park, and would
soon start construction work.
Infinite Launches Australia Operations
Infinite Computer Solutions has announced the start of its Australia operations
with the launch of an office in Melbourne. "Infinite's Melbourne
operations will play an integral role in its goal to be a $300 mn company by
2009-2010. Infinite's decision to base in Melbourne is a feather in the cap of
Victoria's thriving ICT industry," says Tim Holding, the Victorian
minister for ICT.
Suntec's US Support Center
SunTec Business Solutions, the Thiruvananthapuram-based pricing and billing
software company, has unveiled its new Support Center in the US. The center is
part of the company's added focus on telecom, banking and financial services
and insurance in the US, shortening the time needed to resolve customer
inquiries. The new center will first deliver support to next generation telecom
firms such as Cable One.
TCS New Innovation Lab
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has launched its Innovation Lab in Peterborough
to provide customers with an experience center where new domain solutions can be
developed, incubated and piloted, using latest technologies. The Peterborough
lab is focused on the changes that will affect all enterprises in the near
future, and works as a central hub to the other eighteen TCS Innovation Labs,
making use of the ideas and innovations created in those labs and bringing them
to one collaborative location.
Zensar Plans Centers in Brazil and Poland
IT services provider Zensar Technologies has announced its plans to set up
centers in Sao Paolo, Brazil and in Poland to serve as near shore centers for
Latin America and Europe. This is a big market that the company was keen on
pursuing. Ganesh Natarajan, MD, says that this move to set up more overseas
centers was part of the three-shore model that the company has evolved over
years covering onsite, offshore and near shore.
Sify's New Tech Center
Sify has launched its technology center in Hyderabad with plans to invest about
Rs 5 crore on the facility. The new center would develop new technologies in
managed network services and virtual private networks, according to S Bhaskar,
chief technology officer of the company.
Agile Expands in India
AGILE Software Enterprise, the India subsidiary of US-based Agile Software, a
leading provider of product lifecycle management solutions, has announced the
company's expansion in Bangalore with the official opening of its second
development center at ITP, Bangalore.
Alereon's R&D in Pune
Alereon, the Certified Wireless USB technology leader for mobile ultrawideband (UWB)
WiMedia, has announced the opening of Alereon Semiconductors, the company's
new product oriented research and development (R&D) facility in Pune, India.
Proteans Expansion Plans
Proteans Software Solutions, a leading provider of outsourced product
development services, has announced its expansion plans for Europe. Proteans
recently signed up with two leading ISVs for outsourced product development
services, and is looking to setup an office in the UK.
Headstrong's Noida Center
Headstrong Services India, a leading global consultancy firm, has announced the
opening of one of India's largest capital markets state-of-the-art centre in
Noida, UP. Built with an investment of $20 mn, the center is spread over 150,000
sq ft and was inaugurated by Shri Kamal Nath, minister of Commerce and Industry.
