Connectiva to Double India Headcount

Connectiva, a revenue management solutions provider, is looking at doubling
its India R&D investments and headcount. The company primarily caters to the
telecom industry. Connectiva has a portfolio of more than thirty major telecom
players across the globe that include tier-1 Indian operators and global players
like Zain Group Celtel, Etisalat, and Cable & Wireless, among others.

ARM VLSI Test Lab at Bangalore Center

ARM has incorporated a VLSI test lab in its design center in Bangalore. The
new VLSI test lab will provide analysis of VLSI libraries and ARM physical IP to
correlate design to silicon behavior. This activity has become a partner
requirement prior to SoC tapeout as technologies have increased in complexity
and mask costs have escalated. The establishment of the VLSI test lab completes
the requirements to enable the ARM India design center to provide a full
complement of design services to the companys global partners.

IBS Software Comes to Rotterdam

IBS Software, a leading global provider of new-generation IT solutions to
the travel, transportation, and logistics (TTL) industry, is setting up an
office at Rotterdam, the Netherlands. The new facility will help IBS establish
an ocean transportation line of business (LoB), the latest addition to its six
other lines of business.

AMD Goes Lean

As part of a company-wide initiative, AMD has applied Lean techniques, used
successfully by Toyota, Porsche and others, to reduce waste and drive
efficiencies across its operations. This was highlighted at the keynote speech
at the Advanced Semiconductor Manufacturing Conference, by Doug Grose, AMD
senior vice president for Manufacturing, Technology Development & Supply Chain
Management, who outlined a number of steps the company has taken to improve its
manufacturing efficiency and customer-responsiveness.

Tata to Expand Network

Tata Communications and Sonus Networks, a market leader in IP communications
infrastructure, have unveiled plans for the strategic expansion of Tata
Communications global voice network. The expansion of the global voice network
represents further execution of the companys mission to expand its global reach
and ability to deliver IP-leveraged communications solutions to businesses and
consumers worldwide.

Juniper Expands R&D Center

Juniper Networks recently doubled the size of its research and development
center in Bangalore. The center, which has occupied a second building at the
Embassy Prime and Bagmane Tech Park, now has capacity for over 1,200 staff. The
expansion, to over 250,000 sq ft of floorspace, comes five years after the R&D
center first began operations with a staff of thirty engineers.

Targus to Expand Footprint

Targus Technologies, a system and network integrator, has outlined its plans to
expand its footprint across India by shifting its head office to a new location
in Gurgaon and opening a new branch office in Mumbai. The new head office is
spread over a space of 15,000 sq ft with four floors. The companys headcount
touched 250-plus in 2007-08.

ADI Enlarges Portfolio

Analog Devices (ADI) is expanding its portfolio of market-leading energy
metering solutions (EMS) with the ADE51xx and ADE55xx single-chip metering
devices, which are designed for the increasingly sophisticated communications
networks used by energy markets. Globally, solid-state energy meters are
replacing failure-prone electromechanical systems that are subject to meter
tampering.

Net4 India Opens Singapore Subsidiary

Net4 India has announced the opening of its newly formed subsidiary, Net4
Singapore, and that it has also been awarded with the service-based operator (SBO)
license in Singapore. Under the license, the company will now be able to support
a range of enhanced retail and wholesale VoIP business. The new division aims to
create a proactive, customer-facing organization and to manage the wholesale
VoIP business from Singapore for its international market. Net4 will establish a
new PoP in Singapore for VoIP-related services that include the international
calling card service (ICC), toll free services, IP telephony services, VPN
voice/data services.
