The year 2003-04 saw EXL Service come out successfully from a major crisis when its erstwhile parent
Conseco, that had bought the company a couple of years back, went bankrupt. After a management buyout, the company managed to consolidate position and hold steady, though growth was severely affected because of the problem.
Conseco, which once, constituted 95% of EXL's business now, contributes a meager 4%. It bagged a major 3-year contract from Indy Mac Bank in August and also set up an 86,360 feet center in
Pune. A broad-based BPO company, the BFSI vertical contributes 80% of revenues.
