Google Cloud Next 23 was held recently in San Francisco, USA. Sundar Pichai, CEO, Google welcomed the audience. He introduced Thomas Kurian, Google Cloud, and lauded his team for building a top enterprise company in the world.
As a company, we have been preparing for this moment from some time. For the last seven years, Google has undertaken the AI-first approach. It has applied AI to make products radically more helpful. Making AI helpful for everyone will be the most important way we will deliver on our mission. We have the very best tooling, foundation models and infrastructure, across TPUs and GPUs.
We are using generative AI to re-imagine the experience and take more of work out of searching. We call this the search generative experience (SGE). We are using years of insights and technology development to harness AI at scale. Google Cloud is used to provide these same insights to help customers innovate. It is exciting to see how customers are starting to use generative AI.
Example, GM is using Google Cloud’s conversational AI for connected vehicles. They will continue to explore multiple ways. Since March 2023, many customers are using Vertex AI to build apps. We are working with partners across ecosystems. Examples are PaLM for Chat, PaLM for Text, Imagen for image generation, Chirp for speech to text, Embeddings API for text and image, and Codey for code generation.
We are excited how generative AI can transform how things can get done. We previewed Duet AI, an intelligent collaborator. We are now announcing general availability of Duet AI in Google Workspace. We are announcing Duet AI in Google Cloud. We are also using digital watermarking. We have become the first cloud provider to offer digital watermarking and verification. We will continue to be bold and responsible, and make these powerful tools accessible to everyone.
