“We Did It!”: Dataquest ICT Jury Awards Showcase Winners’ Speeches Highlighting Indian Pioneering Spirit

At the Dataquest ICT Jury Awards, Srikanth Velamakanni, Co-founder of Fractal Analytics, Dr. BVR Mohan Reddy, Founder of Cyient, and Raman Roy, CMD of Quatrro BPO Solutions, each expressed their gratitude for the recognition bestowed upon them. Velamakanni reflected on the integration of AI into the tech industry, inspired by Raman Roy’s insights, while Reddy highlighted the significance of the award coming from a longstanding Indian computer magazine. Roy shared anecdotes illustrating the BPO industry’s accidental creation and emphasized the potential of Indian talent.

Srikanth Velamakanni, Co-founder of Fractal Analytics, remarked during his acceptance speech, “I’m excited that the AI industry is now an inextricable part of the tech industry. Dr. BVR Mohan Reddy, Founder, Cyient: “Thank you for recognizing me for this award for my lifetime achievement. This award is very special to me because it comes from the longest-living Indian computer magazine with the largest amount of readership.

From my early days in the industry back in 1991 to my endeavors in advocating for engineering research and development (E R&D) within NASSCOM, every step has been guided by a relentless pursuit of excellence and innovation.

I am deeply indebted to esteemed figures in the industry like Mr. Ajay Choudry, Mr. R S Pawar, and Mr. Arun Seth, whose invaluable guidance and mentorship have played a pivotal role in shaping my professional journey. As I accept this award, I am reminded of the collective achievements of our industry and the endless possibilities that lie ahead. I am committed to continuing our journey of innovation and excellence, guided by the principles that have brought us to this moment.”

Raman Roy, the CMD of Quatrro BPO Solutions, expressed his gratitude to Dataquest CyberMedia, acknowledging: “We created an industry purely by accident. It’s been around 40 years, because Dataquest is celebrating 40. Once an American told me, “You Indians can’t do this.” I was employed with American Express at that time. That started a passion, a desire to show the world that we Indians were equally as good as our international counterparts.

To me, it brings out the potential and the possibility of what can happen. I live my life trying to prove what we can do. Whatever it is, we created an industry. And for that, I’m delighted, I’m grateful. And thank you very much for this award.”
