Vertiv, an American multinational provider of critical infrastructure and services for data centers, communication networks, and commercial and industrial environments, has inaugurated the Vertiv Training Academy & Technology Excellence Center in Pune.

We are now moving from product company to services company. 80% of the revenue comes from data centers. Google is building the largest data center in Vishakhapatnam, as is AWS. We are now seeing AI-enabled data centers. We are also working with Nvidia so that when the new GPUs come in, we are ready. 

There are multi-billion investments happening in data centers. We are generating 20% capacity of India's data. We have the entire solution. We have prefabricated solutions for infrastructure solutions. Services is our superpower. We have the largest network of service engineers in India. Vertiv has acquired Great Lakes to deliver future-ready AI rack solutions. Vertiv also acquired Gen AI software leader Waylay NV, Belgium, to enhance critical digital infrastructure operational intelligence, optimization, and services. 

Vertiv announced the intent to acquire PurgeRite, a leading provider of specialized fluid management services, to expand liquid cooling services portfolio. It will deliver end-to-end thermal management solutions. PurgeRote has established itself as a leader in mechanical flushing, purging, and filtration for mission-critical data center applications. This transaction is expected to close in Q4-2025.

Training academy
David Yao, Senior Director, Pune Hub, Vertiv, said Vertiv is moving from being a product to a solutions-based company. The Academy comes in at three areas. We are now investing in an environment where we service products. Engineers train on same equipment used by customers. Our method is very important. Engineers already know the equipment inside out. We are also resilient. We have a global network that leads business continuity. 

Vertiv Training and Excellence Center aims to foster continuous learning and technical excellence, nurturing high-performance culture. It serves as hub for innovation, technology, and knowledge exchange, across cutting-edge solutions. We offer hands-on learning experience, industry-aligned curriculum, empowering decision-making, and shaping future-ready talent.

Michael Hall, Senior Director, L&D, Vertiv, said we are scaling technical training globally. We saw the rise of AI. We are executing strategic plans now. We have eight global academies. Technology is changing rapidly with AI. We have to be better to train our engineers faster. 

Majumdar said there are some skill gaps. We have 15+ colocation platers now. Customers expect sane quality of service in India, as elsewhere. We are ensuring engineers are trained on the latest products. We work with IIT Madras to also train students. We are also training our partners. This facility is creating an ecosystem to train and deliver.

Ryan said we have an Academy for learning and as a hub. We are also innovating on how we develop new technology. Yao noted that the Academy is unique due to its integration. We have a huge IBS Center here. There is rapid evolution of technology, and we need to get ahead of that.

Majumdar added we have close association with IITs, and also C-DAC. We are also connected with Pune University. Vertiv is currently doing more of direct-to-chip cooling, rather than immersion cooling.

Vertiv recently announced a gigawatt-scale reference architecture for Nvidia Omniverse DSX Blueprint on platforms, including Nvidia Vera Rubin. Vertiv is providing next wave of AI innovation on Vertiv OneCore platform.
