The technological innovations of five trailblazing Taiwanese companies—CyberLink, EverFocus, Himax, Kneron, and VIVOTEK—took center stage at the Taiwan Excellence Product Launch event at ISC West 2025, the largest converged security trade show in the United States, featuring over 750 exhibitors and an estimated 30,000 attendees. These companies unveiled transformative AI-powered products that are driving advancements in global security and resilience.
Under the theme “Advancing Global Security with Taiwan’s AI Solutions,” the event, organized by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), highlighted groundbreaking technologies such as an AI facial recognition camera integrated with Video Management Systems, an IoV video surveillance system, a Palm Vein Authentication suite, an Edge AI chip designed to transform AIoT security, and a hybrid cloud surveillance solution. Taiwan Excellence, a symbol of innovation and quality, has become a globally recognized hallmark representing the pinnacle of Taiwanese innovation.
“Taiwan Excellence first participated in ISC West in 2018, and after a seven-year hiatus, we are thrilled to return, reaffirming our commitment to the security industry and the significance of this global exhibition,” said Ms. Yolanda Pi, Director, Taiwan Trade Center, Los Angeles. “Through TAITRA, our product launch event unveiled some of Taiwan’s most cutting-edge AI security solutions. Security is a global concern, demanding reliable and forward-thinking solutions. With expertise in advanced electronics, semiconductors, and AI, Taiwan remains a trusted partner in addressing global security challenges.”
The 2025 event also featured remarks from Ralph Jensen, Publisher & Editor-in-Chief of Security Today Magazine, who highlighted Taiwan’s critical role in advancing global security technology. He praised Taiwan’s leadership in developing cutting-edge surveillance systems and its strong partnership with the U.S., combining manufacturing expertise with American innovation to deliver scalable, AI-powered security solutions.
Jensen concluded by commending the security professionals in attendance: “Your work is at the forefront of protecting lives and communities. Thank you for your dedication—I look forward to seeing where your creativity and innovation will take us next.”
The five presenting Taiwanese companies—of which CyberLink, EverFocus, and VIVOTEK are recipients of the prestigious Taiwan Excellence award—generated significant buzz with the debut of their new products at the launch event.
CyberLink: Addressing an enthusiastic audience, Ms. Mei Guu, President, Business Unit 2 at CyberLink, explained that while video surveillance has dramatically improved in the past decade—greatly reducing video investigation search times, particularly across multiple cameras—it still falls short of actively preventing incidents.
FaceMe Security, however, turns video surveillance from reactive to proactive. It’s a turnkey solution with add-ons to fit different environments, such as a people tracker, virtual fence, and repeated stranger alert, to name a few. When integrated with leading VMS platforms, it enhances smart security management for enterprises, smart buildings, and public safety applications.
EverFocus: With the theme “Your Safety, Our Focus,” US Product Sales Manager Gary Chen showcased the company’s latest advancement in the vital world of mobile security—a cutting-edge Mobile DVR system for high-definition video recording in demanding conditions. Supporting up to 8 channels of 1080p full-HD recording, this system employs advanced H.264/H.265 video compression and offers up to 4TB of SSD storage, raising the bar for mobile surveillance.
With optional Wi-Fi, 4G/5G connectivity, and GPS integration, combined with robust anti-vibration technology and the ability to perform in extreme temperatures, it is perfectly equipped for use in fleet management, public transportation, and law enforcement applications.
Himax Technologies: At the cutting edge of biometric security, Himax showcased its WiseEye Palm Vein Authentication Suite. Alex Chang, Senior Product Manager of Technical Marketing, said the suite stands at the forefront of innovation, delivering a seamless, contactless solution that pairs palm vein recognition with facial authentication.
What makes WiseEye unique, he noted, is that your palm vein is as distinctive as your DNA, making it highly accurate and resistant to forgery. Unlike other solutions, it delivers consistent performance regardless of an individual’s age, fingerprint condition, height, or lighting.
Kneron: “The future is on the edge,” remarked Kneron Marketing Director, Jeffrey Chen. Edge AI stands in contrast to cloud AI, which is the mainstream method of deploying AI today, Chen noted. Edge AI performs algorithm processing directly on the device where the data is collected instead of transmitting the data to the cloud for processing.
This reduces latency, enhances privacy, enables offline functionality, and minimizes bandwidth usage making devices more efficient and independent, benefiting industries requiring fast and secure decision-making—crucial for security applications.
VIVOTEK: VIVOTEK showed off its AI-powered cloud platform, VORTEX. Senior Director of Product Development at VIVOTEK USA, Ray Cooke, noted that to accelerate platform innovation and foster a thriving security ecosystem, VIVOTEK developed VORTEX as a VSaaS product. The VSaaS market, he said, is expected to grow by 25.7% by 2028. The VSaaS subscription model is also growing at twice the rate of traditional surveillance systems.
Cooke also introduced a new feature called the AI Hub, designed to unify AI-driven capabilities within a single platform. It streamlines surveillance operations while optimizing security management through tools like real-time monitoring, post-event analysis, and intelligent decision-making. This allows the AI Hub to minimize operational complexity, accelerate response times, and enhance overall security performance.
