SEMICON India 2025 successfully concluded its three-day extravaganza at Yashobhoomi in New Delhi, leaving an indelible mark on the semiconductor and electronics industry.

Commencing on a high note with a visionary statement “The day is not far when the smallest chip made in India will drive the biggest change in the world” by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the milestone event went on to showcase a stellar lineup of sessions featuring industry thought leaders, drawing an overwhelming response from visitors, startups, innovators, investors, academicians and students. 

Key highlights
Prestigious visits: The event was graced by two visits from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister, Ashwini Vaishnaw, and MoS, Jitin Prasada, who interacted with industry leaders, startups, and innovators, underscoring the government's strong commitment to advancing India's semiconductor goals.

World-class inauguration ceremony: The event kicked off with a spectacular inauguration ceremony having nine global CXO speakers, setting a new standard for global industry events.

Accelerating the roadmap for Aatmanirbhar chips: Five startups from the sanctioned list of 23 chip design projects under the Design-Linked Incentive (DLI) Scheme presented their roadmaps to the Prime Minister on the second day of the event, highlighting India's growing prowess and self-reliance in semiconductor chip design.

Overwhelming response from exhibitors: Fully-packed exhibition halls featured top-class infrastructure, and over 350 exhibitors from 48 countries showcasing cutting-edge technologies and innovations display.

Strong visitor engagement: Over 20,000 visitors attended the event, demonstrating the strong interest and engagement of the industry and academia in India's semiconductor ecosystem.

Special features: The event featured a range of strategic showcase, including special features. such as Workforce Development Pavilion, Startup Pavilion, and six Country Round Tables, setting the stage for valuable insights and opportunities for networking and collaboration at promoting bilateral partnerships between India and key global semiconductor markets.

Amitesh Kumar Sinha, Additional Secretary, MeitY and CEO, India Semiconductor Mission, said: “The journey of electronics manufacturing started in the last 10 years with the play of EMS assembly, initially SKD and later on CKD. For deepening of the value chains, MeitY earlier introduced SPECS and now has come out with ECMS scheme for electronic components manufacturing. 

"We are also aiming to increase further value addition of 15-35%, depending on the complexity of the device, which will come from designing, fabrication and packaging of semiconductor chips. In addition, we are trying to develop a complete ecosystem which will include equipment/components manufacturing, facilities for chemicals, gases and materials. These are the ingredients of the complete ecosystem.”

Few thousand biz-to-biz and networking meetings, thousands of leads to exhibitors, and more than 50 MoUs signed, media briefing by Union Minister for MoEIT, Media interactions of several global CXOs, media coverage of 100s of articles and stories, etc.  This achievement underscores the growing confidence of the industry in India's semiconductor ecosystem and the event's role as a catalyst for growth.
