As India embarks on its journey to become a global hub for semiconductor manufacturing, Gujarat is emerging as a frontrunner in driving this transformation. With a strong policy framework, world-class infrastructure, and strategic government interventions, the state has positioned itself as the preferred destination for semiconductor investments.

Under the visionary leadership of PM, Narendra Modi, India is fostering a thriving Semiconductor & Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) ecosystem, driving cutting-edge research, manufacturing, and innovation in the semiconductor domain.

Building on the resounding success of the Gujarat SemiConnect Conference 2024, the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of Gujarat, the global semiconductor association SEMI, and the India Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA) have announced that "Gujarat SemiConnect 2025" will play a pivotal role in advancing India's journey towards self-reliance in semiconductor technology.

Guided by the decisive leadership of Chief Minister of Gujarat, Bhupendrabhai Patel, the state has swiftly capitalized on emerging opportunities, creating a competitive edge that has attracted major investments into Gujarat. With semiconductor facilities at various stages of development, the Government of Gujarat is now focused on building a robust and resilient semiconductor ecosystem to sustain long-term growth

Ms. Mona Khandhar IAS, Principal Secretary, DST, Government of Gujarat, stated: “A robust semiconductor and ESDM sector has the potential to transform India’s economy, enhance innovation, and strengthen national security. Hosting the 2nd edition of Gujarat SemiConnect Conference including Building Local to Global Value Chain, IESA Vision Summit and ISPEC underscores the state’s pivotal role in India’s semiconductor revolution and our commitment to establishing Gujarat as a global leader in semiconductor manufacturing. 

"We look forward to welcoming thought leaders, innovators, and visionaries from around the world to foster meaningful collaborations and build a strong local-to-global value chain.” The event will bring together over 1,500 delegates from across the globe, including top government officials, industry leaders, MSMEs, startups, incubators, and academia. With more than 25 top government officials participating, the summit will provide key insights into policy frameworks and visionary strategies shaping the future of the semiconductor and electronics sectors."

The Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of Gujarat, the global industry association SEMI serving the electronics manufacturing supply chain, providing standards, advocacy, and market research for the semiconductor and related industries, and the India Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA), India’s leading trade body for the semiconductor and electronics industry, shared the highlights of the Gujarat SemiConnect 2025 consisting of 19th edition of the IESA Vision Summit and Indian Semiconductors & Packaging Ecosystem Conference (ISPEC) 2025 scheduled from March 5-7, 2025. 

The conference will be jointly organized by Gujarat State Electronics Mission (GSEM), SEMI and IESA. The media was briefed by Ms. Mona Khandhar, Principal Secretary, Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of Gujarat in presence of Mr. Manish Gurwani, Mission Director of Gujarat State Electronics Mission (GSEM), Mr Ajit Manocha President and CEO of SEMI Global, Mr. Ashok Chandak, President of IESA and representatives from Semiconductor Anchor investors of Gujarat: Micron, Tata, CG Power and Kaynes, during a briefing at Sachivalaya, Gandhinagar.

This flagship event, which will play a pivotal role in shaping India’s Semiconductor and Electronics System Design & Manufacturing (ESDM) sector, will be inaugurated by Bhupendrabhai Patel, Chief Minister of Gujarat, and Ashwini Vaishnaw, Minister of Railways, Information & Broadcasting, and Electronics & Information Technology, Government of India, on 5 March 2025 at the Mahatma Mandir Convention and Exhibition Centre, Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
