Ashwini Vaishnaw, Minister of Electronics and IT, Government of India, has announced that India will get its first-ever Made in India semiconductor chip in 2025 itself.

Speaking at the 85th foundation day of Keshav Memorial Educational Society in Hyderabad, he said that India is going to become one of the most important semiconductor nations in the world. The Indian government has already approved six semiconductor plants, and their construction is currently going on. 

He said: "We are going to become one of the most important semiconductor nations in the world. The most complex chips are designed here, in India, across cities, such as Hyderabad, Pune, Bangalore, Gurgaon, Noida, and Chennai. Now, we are starting the manufacturing of semiconductor chips.

"We have already approved six semiconductor plants. Their construction is going on. We will have the first Made in India chip in 2025."
 
As a part of the India AI Mission, free datasets and others are being uploaded. Vaishnaw said that as many as one million people are being trained in the use of artificial intelligence (AI). India will be among the top two economies in the world by 2047.
