Celera Semiconductor, a Silicon Valley startup pioneering analog design automation, announced a $20 million equity investment from Maverick Silicon, a private investment firm focused on transformative semiconductor technologies.
This strategic financing round positions Celera to bring to market custom analog ICs developed using its patented Nestos platform—a digital twin-based analog design library that enables rapid, high-precision analog IC development. By automating the most complex parts of the analog design process, Celera is unlocking a new era of "real-time" analog product development for OEM customers across many industries.
"We're thrilled to partner with Maverick Silicon, whose deep technical understanding and long-term perspective align with our vision," said Patrick Brockett, CEO of Celera Semiconductor. "Analog IC design has always faced a bottleneck—massive demand, but no scalable way to meet it. Our platform changes that. We've built a team that fuses elite analog design expertise with state-of-the-art software and AI talent. Together, we're enabling a 10x acceleration in development cycles, with no compromise in performance."
Celera's breakthrough stems from its use of "digital twins" for analog functions—mathematically exact models that replace manual circuit design with software-based optimization and generation. Using Nestos, Celera has already demonstrated to major customers that they can develop full-custom analog ICs in just 10% of the time required by traditional analog workflows.
"We believe real-time analog development is no longer a dream. It's a roadmap to 2030," said Calum MacRae, founder and CTO of Celera Semiconductor. "Our customers are already seeing the power of instant customization—where silicon aligns precisely with their needs, without delay, cost penalties, or design compromises."
"Maverick's investment will accelerate our go to market strategy," said Alberto Viviani , COO of Celera Semiconductor. "It allows us to serve more markets and customers with the silicon they really want. Traditional semiconductor companies are unable to provide these solutions because legacy design flows are too manual, lengthy and costly. With support from industry-leading supply chain partners like Vanguard International Semiconductor and ASE Group, Celera offers an unmatched turnkey solution to its customers."
"Analog design has long faced structural challenges—limited talent pipelines and incremental tooling improvements have made it difficult to keep up with accelerating application demand," said Kenneth Safar, Managing Director at Maverick Silicon. "Celera offers a step-change. By combining software and silicon in new ways, the company is opening the door to faster, more flexible analog development. We're proud to support a team that's bringing real-time analog into reach."
