CEA-Leti and C2MI to strengthen Franco-Canadian collaboration in advanced semiconductor technologies

French Atomic Energy Commission (CEA), through its Leti Institute (CEA-Leti), and the MiQro Innovation Collaborative Centre (C2MI) announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at establishing a strategic collaboration to develop joint projects in advanced semiconductor technologies.

This partnership seeks to combine the expertise and development resources of both organizations to provide the industrial and innovation ecosystems of Canada and France with new capabilities in key areas such as microsystems, advanced packaging, and photonics. It also aims to strengthen the resilience of value chains, accelerate innovation, and generate mutual economic benefits for both countries.

In its initial phase, the collaboration will focus on identifying complementarities between the respective value chains of CEA-Leti and C2MI, as well as defining structuring projects that will reinforce industrial development on both sides of the Atlantic. Sharing technology roadmaps will play a central role in creating complementary service offerings and enabling faster emergence of innovations for businesses.

This partnership carries strategic importance, aligning directly with the objectives of the G7 Semiconductor Point of Contact Group, which aims to strengthen international collaboration among member countries in semiconductor technologies. Through this alliance, CEA-Leti and C2MI intend to position France and Canada as leading partners and recognized leaders in the collaborative development of advanced semiconductor technologies.
