New Update

Wipro BPOs continuous focus on employee engagement programs and a conducive working environment helped it achieve the #2 position in this years survey compared to the #3 position in the previous year. There were no drastic measures taken up the company in terms of laying off people After opening up four new centers globally in Manila, Japan, Eastern Europe, and Poland apart from smaller centers in Mexico, Canada, and Brazil, the company promoted a cross-cultural practice for employees which allowed employees to interact with each other irrespective of their nation. Flagship programs such as team leader agilence program, coaching and mentoring programs helped the company to retain its employees both at the associate level as well as the mid-management level.

However on the negative side, employees were not satisfied with the kind of salary hikes they received. The company however denied this and argued that Wipro BPO is known to be the best paymaster within the BPO sector because of its good career-oriented culture. Another pain point for the company highlighted in the survey was the lack of transparency in the appraisal system. The company says that the finding might lead to the conclusion that employees were unhappy because they were not in agreement with the moderation process and that employees will be rewarded as per their performance irrespective of the tenure they have served for the company.

Another key highlight for the company where it scored high was on the gender inclusivity parameter. The company believes to be an inclusive organization with the men:women ratio being 66:33 in India, while the numbers are quite high on global basis for men:women ratio (25:75). Special care is taken for female employees specially those on maternity leaves granting them an allowance of `5,000. A sexual harassment committee is also in place to deal with any kind of harassment by male employees at the workplace.
