A combined push of the online classes and the phenomenal rise of Edu-Tech domain proved to be a blessing for the employment scenario in the Education and Training sector. Historically, education-related jobs and work profiles see seasonal upticks around the time when new sessions start. However, COVID-19’s lockdown has pushed the talent demand for these profiles into a continuous upward rally ever since March 2020.

TimesJobs RecruiteX Sept 2020 edition noted that the Education/Training sector posted the maximum talent demand growth of 27% M-o-M and 7% Y-o-Y in the study period. Functional area wise too, Teaching/Education profiles saw a growth of over 30% in the monthly analysis.

Sanjay Goyal, business head, TimesJobs and TechGig said: “The Education/Training sector’s talent demand performance is like a comeback story of an unconventional sector. Typically, education-related work profiles are all-weather jobs with seasonal spikes. However, the COVID-19 lockdown forced all classes to go online, and education continuity became a stronger resolve. Add to that the stupendous rise of the Edu-Tech domain in the past months. In Sept 2020, the Education/Training sector posted more talent demand than the other high volume sectors as IT/Telecom, BFSI, FMCG and Retail combined together. Now that the educational institutes have started re-opening - partially though - I feel this growth in talent demand will continue for some more time”.
