Ecommerce giant eBay Inc. inaugurated its new global development center in Bangalore- the second one in India. They intend to hire 700 more techcnologists by 2016.
The center was established a year ago as a temporary facility with about 300 employees. "And it is already one of the fastest growing centers," stated Ken Moss, VP of technology and sciences for eBay Marketplaces. "Within this center, eBay will host various centers of excellence. It will be the core center of analytics and some of the functions handled in the Bangalore center include managed marketplace work, platform work, buyer experience, consumer apps, mobile apps, architecture, UI design, big data and analytics," he added.
Currently, eBay''s presence in India includes one global development center in Chennai and a business unit in Mumbai. There are 16 global development centers around the world.
