Another MNC that makes it to the top of the league is e-Serve International, a 44% subsidiary of the Citibank Overseas Investment Corporation, a Citigroup arm. The BPO company posted an excellent performance during fiscal 2003, topping the ROCE charts. e-Serve’s ROCE stood at an astounding 107% compared to 120% in the previous year. In terms of performance, e-Serve revenues were up 28% to Rs 258.25 crore and net profit was up 138% to Rs 30.39 crore. It was ranked #18 in sales and net profit, #10 in sales growth and #4 in profit growth. The company’s gross block was up 28% to Rs 102.01 crore giving it a ranking of #18 in both gross block growth and size. e-Serve is the only listed 100% BPO-focused company that provides services to its parent Citigroup. e-Serve recently set up a global call center with a seating capacity of 400 to cater to clients in the US. The company is expected to benefit from increasing outsourcing of global back office transactions and calls processing by its parent Citibank. With an improvement in performance over the past two quarters, e-Serve is expected to move up the rankings in
the future.
