The online registration for DRDO scholarship 2020 for girls, which was announced by the Defence Research and Development Organisation in June, has now begun. The Recruitment and Assessment Centre (RAC) is accepting online applications for 30 scholarships under the “DRDO Scholarship Scheme for Girls in aerospace engineering, aeronautical engineering, space engineering and rocketry, avionics, or aircraft engineering”. Selected students will receive scholarships of up to Rs 1,86,000 per year.

Who can Apply for DRDO Scholarship 2020 for Girls?

Girls or women studying in the first year of the full time four year BE or BTech degree and postgraduates of two-year full-time MTech or ME degree can apply for the DRDO scholarship 2020. A valid JEE Main and GATE score for BTech and MTech, respectively, are mandatory to apply for the scholarships. The exact eligibility criteria required to apply for the scheme has been previously published.

While there are a total of 30 scholarships available, the number of scholarships is limited to 20 for undergraduate and 10 for postgraduate students. The selected undergraduate students will receive Rs 1,20,000 per year or annual fees, whichever is less, for a maximum period of four years, and postgraduate students will be eligible for a scholarship amount of Rs 15,500 per month subject to Rs 1,86,000 per year for a maximum period of two years.

How to Apply for DRDO Scholarship 2020 for Girls?

Interested and eligible candidates can apply online until 15 November 2020. Candidates will first have to register with the RAC website by providing their email address, mobile number and password. Applicants will then have to fill the biodata, upload photograph and all the pertinent documents, and then submit and lock the application. Each section will have “Save” button for storing the data given in that section. The relevant certificates will need to be scanned to convert them into separate PDF or JPG image files and the size of the individual file should not exceed 500 Kb.
