DRDO, through its centre the Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADA), Bengaluru is offering ten research fellowships for which engineers can apply online. Selected candidates will be engaged for a temporary period, and will be paid a monthly fellowship of Rs 31,000 for junior research fellow vacancies, and Rs 54,000 for research associate fellowships.

Who Can Apply for the Research Fellowships at DRDO?

There are ten fellowships available of which one is for research associate and nine are for junior research fellows. For the research associate fellowship, candidates with a PhD in electronics or microwaves having expertise related to design and testing of AESA antennas or low observable technologies OR ME or MTech in the first division in any discipline related to electronics, communication, or microwaves and RF with minimum three years post-qualification experience in research, teaching or design and development with at least one research paper in Science Citation Index (SCI) journal can apply.

For the nine junior research fellowships, candidates with a BE or BTech in first division with valid GATE score or ME or MTech with first division both at the graduate and postgraduate levels from the following streams can apply:

  • Electronics and communication engineering.
  • Computer science engineering.
  • Mechanical engineering.
  • Electrical and electronics engineering.

How to Apply for Research Vacancies at DRDO?

Interested candidates will have to apply for the research fellowships before 20 April 2021 at 5 PM IST on the official Recruitment and Assessment Centre website. Only shortlisted candidates will then be called for an interview at ADE. The age limit of the applicants cannot exceed 35 years for RA and 28 years for JRF on the date of the interview.
