DRDO to Conduct Seminar on Autonomous Air Vehicles, Interested Students and Professionals Can Apply

The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has issued a fresh notification inviting industry, academia, startups and students to attend a seminar on Autonomous Air Vehicles - Technologies and applications from 8 to 10 January 2020. The event will be held at the Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE), Bangalore.

Various eminent speakers from prestigious institutions such as Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Indian Institute of Science (IISc), MIT Chennai, CSIR and so on will be addressing the sessions. The seminar is an annual event jointly conducted by Design Division of The Aeronautical Society of India (AeSI) and ADE, DRDO. The annual event focuses on technology developments and end applications related to UAVs for both civil and military domains. The event has master classes on day 1 followed by invited talks by speakers on the next 2 days, says the DRDO website.

AeSI is a society in India serving professions in areas of aeronautics, aerospace and aviation. The purpose of the society is to "advance sciences, engineering, technology and management of aerospace, aeronautics and aviation and to foster and promote the professionalism of those engaged in these pursuits".

The focus areas of the event will be swarm robotics, distributed control, integrated vehicle health monitoring, data link and autonomous systems, multi-sensor data fusion, fault tolerance and reconfiguration, and so on.

Interested organizations and individuals need to fill up the registration forms, which should then be sent by email along with payment particulars. On the spot registrations will not be permitted due to security reasons. The registration fee can be paid through DD, multicity cheque, or bank swift transfer.

Furthermore, candidates also need to note that the number of seats for students and startups is limited to 75 each. Those who wish to know more about the DRDO seminar, and participate in the same are advised to go through the official website and register for the event.
