Dr Anirban Basu (www.anirbanbasu.in), FIE and past Member of the Council of The Institution of Engineers (India), has taken over as the President of Computer Society of India (CSI) for the period 2016-2017.
Formed in 1965, CSI is the largest and oldest body of IT professionals and has been instrumental in guiding the Indian IT industry since its formative years. Today, CSI has 73 chapters all over India, over 500 student branches, and more than 100000 members including India's most famous IT industry leaders, brilliant scientists and dedicated academicians.
Dr Anirban Basu is a dynamic executive based in Bangalore with more than 35 years experience in Academia, advanced Research & Development, commercial Software Industry, Consultancy and Corporate Training. He has played a significant role in developing India’s first supercomputer PARAM and in the growth of Computer Science Education and Research in the country.
