Overall, FY18 was a strong year for SAP globally, as well as in India. Today, its applications and services enable more than 9900 businesses and public-sector customers in India to operate profitably, adapt continuously, and grow sustainably across the globe.

It took a Data-centric approach and advanced the thinking that every CEO wants to leverage Data in a way that they can enable the Intelligent Enterprise, which can drive business outcomes such as Total Customer Experience, Step Change in Productivity and transform the way workforce is engaged. The Intelligent Enterprise leverages emerging technologies such as AI/ML, IoT, and Analytics to enable the workforce to focus on higher value outcomes. In line with that SAP delivers the Intelligent Enterprise through the framework features 3 key components:

  •  Intelligent Suite – to enable our customers to automate their day-to-day business processes and better interact with their customers, suppliers, employees, etc. through applications that have intelligence embedded in them
  •  Digital Platform - to facilitate the collection, connection, and orchestration of data as well as the integration and extension of processes in our Integrated Applications
  •  Intelligent Technologies - to enable our customers to leverage their data to detect patterns, predict outcomes, and suggest actions.

From a market perspective, the India launches of SAP Leonardo and SAP S/4HANA Cloud helped reiterate its commitment to innovation as well as its mission to help every customer become a best-run business.

i360, its Innovation 4.0 accelerator program was launched with an aim to educate 1.5 million engineering students across 3224 colleges with AICTE-mandated courses on IoT, machine learning, artificial intelligence, robotics & analytics. Strengthening its commitment as a purpose-led organization, its Code Unnati initiative continued its successful stride, having impacted nearly 160,000 lives and now expanding the partnership to RPG Group. Also expanding its vision to enhance technical skillsets of India’s youth population and improve overall employability, SAP signed a MoU with Government of India’s Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship to impart training in SAP Business One and Data Sciences.

With an annual global revenue of €23.77 billion, SAP had a record run over the year. Due to the strong momentum in SAP’s cloud business, the company raised its outlook for the full year 2018. For software revenue, India had an impressive quarter and grew by double digits.  SAP saw immense confidence from its customers in terms of its capabilities as they continue to adopt our ever-expanding portfolio, which is ahead of the industry curve.  This can be seen with customers like LTI, Marlabs, Knack Systems and several others embracing its future-facing technologies.
