Domestic Flight Cancellation and Rescheduling: What Airlines in India are Offering Amidst Coronavirus Outbreak

Respite is being offered on domestic flight cancellation and rescheduling by airlines as travelers fear to take flights during the Coronavirus outbreak

Close of the heels of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) asking airline companies to waive off domestic flight cancellation and rescheduling fees for travelers, almost all airlines in India are offering some respite to customers. The decision has been taken due to flights getting curtailed, canceled and disrupted almost on a daily basis due to the Coronavirus outbreak.

Several customers who have booked their flights before the Coronavirus was declared a pandemic by the World Health Organisation now want to avoid domestic travel as well. “I have booked 2 tickets of 22nd march but now I am scared due to coronovirus, I have heard that Covid spread on airport and in flight. Can you please refund my full amount Please,” says Balwan Singh on Twitter.

“I have an itinerary by the end of this month, but seeing the current Corona epidemic would like to cancel the same. Kindly initiate a full refund for the same,” says Mehak Khurana. Airlines are also reporting a high volume of calls in their call centres and a large number of queries on social media regarding the same. However, the airlines have already announced what they are offering to customers on domestic flight cancellation and rescheduling.

Here is What Airlines in India are Offering on Domestic Flight Cancellation and Rescheduling

IndiGo

IndiGo has waived off fees for rescheduling the tickets. For any new reservation that customers make on or before 31 March 2020, they can reschedule their journey multiple times, without paying any change fee. However, the fare difference if any will be applicable, and the changes have to be made at least 3 days prior to the travel date.

“Booking date: On or before 8th March, 2020

Travel date: On or before 31st March, 2020

  1. You can reschedule your journey multiple times for travel before March 31, 2020 without paying any change fee.
  2. You can reschedule your journey only once for travel beyond March 31, 2020 without paying any change fee,” says the IndiGo website.

Air India

Here is what Air India has tweeted on domestic flight cancellation and rescheduling charges:

“In view of Coronavirus situation and travel advisory issued, One Free Change permitted for pax to postpone any international or domestic bookings on AI Network on all existing bookings with travel date till 30th April ’20, & on new bookings till 31st March ’20. Tickets must be re-issued on or before 31st May, 2020. In the case of re-routing, the applicable difference of fare will be charged. Passengers are requested to contact our customer care number for further assistance.”

GoAir

The Wadia owned airlines had initially offered free cancellation; however, the same is no longer applicable. The airlines now offers free rescheduling till April 30 for all travel in March and all new bookings till September 30. For travels in March rescheduling can be done 3 days prior to the travel date, and for travels beyond March rescheduling can be done 14 days prior to the date of travel. Consumers will have to pay any fare difference if applicable.

Air Asia

Air Asia is extending free rescheduling on all domestic network flights for travel till 31 March 2020. Rescheduling can be done t any date and the waiver applies only to the first rescheduling that is done 3 days prior to the date of travel.

SpiceJet

SpiceJet too is not charging any rescheduling fees for any travel between 12 and 31 March 2020. However, any fare difference will be applicable.

I have booked round trip tickets from Delhi-Jammu-Delhi for 22nd Mar and back on 24th Mar. But due to corona virus scare i want to cancel my tickets. Today when i tried to call customer care, none of the numbers are picking up saying they have huge call volumes. And online cancellation is showing zero refund. Date change option is of no good to me as tickets were for vaishno devi trip and im not sure when will i get chance to visit again. A sector change would have been of some respite but no such option is available.
Booking was done through #Makemytrip from two different airlines. Now im stuck and about to lose all my money.

I had planned a trip to delhi-allahabad-varanasi-delhi and booked flights accordingly at Makemytrip.com, and it is scheduled on 22 to 28 march. I had got my leave sanctioned from higher authority for this period, But due to corona virus situation our leaves are cancelled by higher authorities( copy enclosed) and we need to cancel our trip. I request you to waive off the cancellation charges as it is due to situation arising due to corona virus and government orders.
please help and do the needful
    thanks

I got onward journey rescheduled for September 2020 with AirAsia, how ever for return journey SpiceJet is not rescheduling free of rescheduling charge. I have to cough extra money. My initial travel date is March 21, 2020.

  5. Indigo management should understand that customers will travel based on their needs they cannot reschedule without planning in place, that too before 31 march.. I wish government should take stand in support of public to get their refund completely when asked. Don’t do business with customer during the times of pandemic situation… that will exposed more to vulnerabilities of public health… Refund money as asked, and win the trust of public !! Customer is God don’t forget it !!

We had to cancel our trip to Chennai on 14/3/20 due to the corona outbreak. The airlines don’t even bother to inform the customer that it has to be cancelled before 72 hours and they’re not giving 100% free cancellation or rescheduling. The ministry has to be more stern towards the airlines. I didn’t even get 20% of the total amount. Total apathy from the airlines. We pay taxes from all corners and end up loosing even more. There is no clear statement from the ministry or the airlines.

  8. Radha

Indigo is probably acting in the most unethical way by not waiving off the cancelation fees and also is charging for rescheduling. So please change the information you’re providing.

  9. Abhilasha

Even after the announcement airline booking partners like makemytrip, goibibo and yatra are not ready to waive off the cancellation as well as rescheduling charges….just minting the money in this situation..and there is no action taken by the govt on this

  10. Anurag Bansal

Airlines are just showing it on news while when I actually try to reschedule both GoAir and spicejet asking for fees. Fooling people and making money that is their agenda at this tough situation.

  11. Sanjay Prasad

We cancelled our tickets for Goa on 14th. Goair neither rescheduled and deducted almost full amount. We thought DGCA had issued an advisory.

  12. Umesh shah

Spicejet is not offering any respite. I have flight scheduled for 14 th march. Have asked full refund on 12 th.
They replied that no refund no relief.
They will charge as per policy.
Where as the vistara allowed free cancellation on the same day.
Spice jet is not understanding the current situation and not giving any relief.

  13. Shashank

I have SPICEJET flight from delhi to Bangalore on 18th march and want to reschedule or cancel it as I am scared due to Corona virus.
Calling airlines is not working, I believe due to high call volume and I am not getting g option online as well.
Anyone has any Info on this or have done something like this with SPICEJET during same timeframe.

  14. Dr Shrabanee Sen

I have cancelled my flight from Mumbai to jamnagar and back but received a minimum amount. I really don’t understand why are airlines not helping by giving reducing the cancellation fees.is it safe for them too to have an affected person with them.

  15. Rakesh Sh

Spicejet is charging cancellation fees of Rs. 3000 per passenger as my travel date is 30th March. Why this is happening as Govt already asked all the airlines to waive off the cancellation charges?

  16. Satish Deshmukj

In the present circumstances airlines as the situation is beyond our control ,airlines must give reasonable refund and free rescheduling. Govt must take stern intative. Govt should not saying that we have control on private airlines is really unfortunate.

  17. Deepika

I have done my flight booking from airasia and now when i want to reschedule my flight they’re not even picking up the call not even responding to the emails. No coustmer executive is available. This is how they do. Seriously very disappointing.

  18. Bhagwanti

I have booked my ticket for return journey thru spice Jet for all 8sr citizens from Delhi to Mumbai dated 2/4/2020. Since all over the corona virous inpact is there and restriction by go vt on travel is advised.spice Jet is not giving any cancellation on refund beyond 31/3/2020. Aviation department orders are ignored n no co operation at all by these air lines.govt shoud give clear orders for cancellations without any loss to sr citizens like me.

  19. Pavan

Airlines are minting money by not waiving off the cancellation fees. A person who has some requirement of travel during March . The requirement may no longer be there beyond March but he has no option but to travel because option of cancellation is not there only rescheduling.. Wow … ur neck is stuck with airlines and they will try to fleece max out of you with all authorities watching. Airlines should be inflicted exemplary penalty by the concerned officials.

  21. Anita

Ridiculous, spicejet isn’t waiving off cancellation fee or rescheduling fee. Government orders do not mean anything to this airline. Government is also not intervening and helping the customer. This is such a bad way to treat people.

  22. Venkata Ramana Rao Tanjore

  26. Bidhan chanda

  27. Aruna Ravindra Gajbhiye

I have booked a flight from Nagpur to Goa by Indigo for 22ND March now I would like to cancel it yesterday I tried but no refund and they are charging heavy fees for rescheduling too

  28. Sneh

Mere cheating. Here government asking all to not travel and not enforcing airlines to refund fully. Finally we pay taxes and now cancellation charges too

  29. Pinky Mehta

we along with our family friends had booked 10 flight tickets from mumbai to bagdogra from 1 April and return journey on 10april 2020. However, due to epidemic caused due to corona virus, entire tourism industry has come to stand still including sikkim state, there are govt. Advisory not to visit sikkim state. We had enquired regarding cancellation of our flight tickets but unfortunately we have been i formed that we won’t be given any amount on account of cancellations. We urge the management to take a conscious decision and refund all the payments made for bookings flight tickets.

    • DAWOOD VAID

it is sad. We have the same situation with our family. Sikkim, Darjeeling are all closed. So no point of travelling. But neither are hotels waving the charges nor the flights. Guess, Corona effects all economies. The tourism and our pockets too! Sad, very hurtful and yet life goes on

  30. Monika

I too have booked on spice jet for 21 March Pune- Delhi and return on Air India 22 March Delhi -Pune. Such difficult time of Coronavirus instead of refunding the money these Airlines are giving a such a small window to re -book the tickets that too before 31 March.
Whoever is the authority please look into the matter if not refunding the money atleast the window for rebooking should be given for open dates.

  31. GunjaN chaturvedi

Air india is not doing any free reschedulling and cancelling either..had been following since last 4days through every medium tweets, insta ,mails and calls…even contacted air india office…all waste…finally cancelled by paying rs9593/- @airindia

    This is concerning international booking.
Go Aur is the worst of lot.
    Never book through them
    Rest are still approachable

  35. Shreya

Mere minting of money by airline sector even during crisis!how could they be so heartless???here government is struggling to curb the travels for next two weeks to contain the epidemic and when people decide to take precautions-airlines will not allow to do so…cancellation or rescheduling means more money for them-the only sector that has made more business in this crisis!so mean of them…..

  36. Kangali

Due to corona outbreak I am cancelling the Vistara flight ticket scheduled for 19 03.2020 assure me zero cancelling charge for a noble cause of your self for society and customer satisfaction . Thanks.

  37. Aman

I booked my flight with goair & air asia india from chandigarh to mumbai. But due to coronavirus outbreak my interview get cancelled in mumbai. Now i don even get next schedule for interview then how can I reschedule my flight. But these airlines are not refunding back even in natural crisis also . Very heartless people.Even they get chance to earn more from public.

  38. Abhilash

AirAsia charged my parents 2500 per passenger for rescheduling due to COVID-19 outbreak along with difference in fare. They are just fooling people and making money.

  39. R. Ayyappan

Govt. in one hand requesting people to avoid or restrict travel due to COVID19 threat whereas the Air lines particularly AIR India is not reducing or waive off the cancellation charge while cancelling the trip. The civil aviation ministry has to give direction to all airlines to waive cancellation charges at least up to 31st March, 2020. Will the ministry rise to the occasion and mitigate the growing grievance of the public.

  40. Chittaranjan

I have booked 9 tickets, bangalore to Delhi, where seems like 70%cancellation charges, reschedule will not work out for me,

I don’t know what to do, atleast government to help out and strict mandate these airlines for full refund, even after government notice, I don’t know why these airlines not following, will there be any action on them by government on misusing current pandemic situation and forcing public?

  41. Srinivas rao a

I booked by Air India for my travel to Mumbai on 26th March and Mumbai to Kozhikode on 29th. I had to cancel due to Covid19. I didn’t get any refund because they say it is a non refundable ticket. Their toll free number is never available.
    V. A. Parthasarathy

  44. Bhairavi

I had booked spicejet ticket to Porbandar for 18h march , but spicejet is asking to reschedule between 14th-30th April. It was for a function which wont be rescheduled. I want to cancel , but they are not giving refund.

  45. Tarun

I was scheduled to travel with my 6 year old Child and wife from Indore to Dubai on 21st March 2020. But Air India is not offering refunds and asking for Cancellation charges of around Rs. 10,000 !! This is really shocking that a public sector airline company is not affected by the government directives/appeal to cease all unnecessarily travel and levying such hefty sums to the scared passengers who are left with no option rather than cancel their flights.

I request Air India to allow cancellation without any Penalty to International passengers who are prebooked to travel before 31st March 2020.

  46. Raja Peter

    Hi,

I booked ticket in Air Asia for travel on Apr 1st, due to this pandemic i want to cancel the trip since i am travelling with kids of age 6 and 3. this is the first time i am taking my kids in flight and i don’t want this to be a nightmare for them. How come the air line came to a conclusion of date on 31st March, the same airlines is providing the option of cancellation/rescheduling in other countries till Apr 30th . Sir this is a pandemic world wide and not only in India. this is not the time to loot people, please help them by providing full waive off. Understand they are not cancelling ticket due to personal reason, and to the extreme our Govt is not able to impose strict rules to these airline to waive off the charge.. why is this ?????????????

  47. Sachin singh

I have booked flight from go air for lucknow from Hyderabad, but due to this corona threat, I do not wish to take part in this travel to avoid this corona spread as this is the base expectations from all of us… But few airlines companies are not doing his moral duties.. Like go air.

  48. RAJESH CHAUDHARY

I have planned for a family trip to port Blair from New Delhi on 2 April but now needs to cancel but badly stuck as none of offer seems good enough.

  49. Marc

I will never use air india again. They are a disgrace to humanity for charging a 50% cancellation fee if one requests a refund due to the virus.

They do not have respect for mankind but are more interested in money which isn’t going to help them anyway, they’re bound for closure.

Air India, you’re a disgrace to the Indian nation.

  50. Prasad Pohekar

TotL 12tickets too and fro to Coimbatore, Want to cancel tickets because of covid19 but airlines are deducting 90%amount on cancelling the tickets asking to minister to waived off the cancellation charges as its is natural calamity

  51. Joerg D.

I booked Air India flights DEL-MAA and back on 4.4.20 and asked for full refund because I come from Germany and visas are cancelled until 15.4. ticket , no Chance to take this flight…full price is INR 12500 and AI asked me for Cancellation fee INR 5700….German Airline Lufthansa and all ! Other Airlines in EU are giving full refund without any discussion due to the Current situation. It’s like „robbery on the highway“ , not showing any responsibilty for their customers. Indian government should take immi action on such behavior.

  52. Manna kar

I have booked 6 ticket from indigo airlines from Guwahati to Delhi 26 March ,but due to Corona virus can I will not interested to go there ,so can I refund full payment if I cancel flight.

  53. Pranav

I spoke to Indigo today to change my booking which was on 28th March. And the response I got from their representative is you have to pay change fee. I ask them I received an email from I Figo that before 31st March if I am traveling and want to change the date so one free change is required but they mention no for every single Change you have to pay the fee. So they are just spreading this for name sake in actuals they are not providing any thing.

  54. BALLA CHAKRAVARTHY

    Hi Iam kalyan,

I have booked flight tickets from Bengaluru to tuticorin for kanyakumari for 7 th April, 20. we have children and old aged persons. So regarding the cancellation or reschedule of tickets due to the outbreak of corona virus and emergency, no one is responding at customer care Indigo. Also the rules are unfavorable.

  55. Rupinder Singh

I had to attend an important court hearing at Mumbai on March 18th, and therefore booked return journey to and fro Chandigarh – Mumbai for March 17th and 19th, on Indigo and Vistara, respectively. It was a tough decision to cancel because of the critical Court hearing, however I decided to cancel 3 days before the journey……against Rs.12,200 of booking amount, I was refunded only Rs.5016, despite the DGCA instructions to all airlines to waive of cancellation charges……shame on the regulator and shame on the airlines!!!!

  56. SS

Not able to travel India due to corona virus . International airlines giving full refund but ridiculously our own Indian airlines companies charging hefty fees !!!

  57. Jayesh Kumar Gehlot

It is very disappointing that there is no communication, no information, no one attending calls and when we visit city office and airport office officer available showing hands up as they informed they cannot do anything for cancellation or rescheduling flight.
Even no-one is responding on e-mail. My travel date is Today on 18th but I don’t what to do with tickets …

  58. Kumari Voleti

I had booked for 22 March from Visakhapatnam to Delhi and return from Chandigarh to Visakhapatnam on 9 April paid about R 10000
On enquiring about refund after cancellation as I am a senior citizen and my tours are cancelled due to Corona virus I am informed that cancellation charges of R 3150 per sector which will be total R 9450 plus GST five percent that will be around zero refund
They are quoting the regular cancellation charges and do not have any consideration for the situation at hand
This is very shallow thinking. I had to be on line waiting for more than one hour and then some more and was not provided the opportunity to talk to a senior person
Air needs to step up to the plate and do better

  59. Gayathri Sriram

Spicejet is a very fraudulent airlines with no scope to make changes for Apr 2nd tickets booked in February where as other airlines are offering a change free. These fraudsters will bite the dust soon.

  60. sandeep mukherji

    Dear Pranav,
I was to tarvel jaipur to kolkata by Indigo 20th March return 25th March 2020. Rescheduled it to August 2020 couple of days back. Did it online and got it withoutchange/ rescheduling charges without ant extra chrges for rescheduling. Try and do it online as call center staff at times are themselves not updated whereas syestem has been updated. Gud Luck. Remember only fare diffrence if any will be required to pay.

  61. Pavani

I have booked flight ticket to Goa on 19the April2020 now I want to cancel the tickets due to corona by indigo flight ..so that full amount will get

  62. Daphi

I am suppose to attend a wedding tomorrow (20th Mar )in Kolkata but I do not want to take risk becuase of the Corona Virus. Rescheduling will not help as I cant reschedule the wedding. I am not getting the refund either. Its dissapointing indeed. Call centers of both Indigo and Air asia are shut. Nobody is attending to your needs. Im upset!

  63. Aditi

I’m also facing the same issue as may others..Is there something called civil aviation department in govt of India who can intervene and help people . Hope, govt will take stand in support of public to get their refund completely

  64. Sameer kulkarni

I want to reschedule/cancel our booking on Indigo flt to Guwahati fm Indore. No one is responding on the Indigo contact nos. Also we had booked before 9th March and travel date is April 5th. No clear indication of rescheduling is given. Very sad to see the response of Indigo airline in time of covid 19 pandemic.

  65. Kosuri V B Raju

Hi, My story is totally different, I supposed to travel on 10th April’2020 with my wife and 3 children from Hyderabad to New Delhi by Air India because all of my kids exams to be finished before 31st March’20 according to the schedule but due to Corona problem my kids exams have been cancelled by ICSE board and don’t know when they will conduct the exams. In this juncture I have no choice, except cancel of the tickets. But Air India is not accepting free ticket cancellation, they are giving option for postponing/reschedule the travel date. How can I take chance without knowing when ICSE board will conduct the exams and further If I chosen some date then is there any guarantee that flight will run on the particular day and wherever I want to visit i.e. tourist places in Jaipur, Dehradun, Haridwar and other places are allowed public to visit or not. God only knows that but airlines or government are not bothered at all about the public problems.

I am requesting the central government to take necessary steps to allow all the passengers to cancel or rescheduling the tickets with any cancel/rescheduling fee/charges.

  66. Kosuri V B Raju

I am requesting the central government to take necessary steps to allow all the passengers to cancel or rescheduling the tickets without any cancel/rescheduling fee/charges.

  67. Manoj

Even Iam facing the same issue I have booked 20 Tickets up and down journey now speaking to Spicejet customer care they say cancellation charges will be applicable …it’s ridiculous when everything is shutting down they still want cancellation charges it’s worst ..Govt is supposed to take stand with public not with such bull shit Flight carriers.

  68. Kosuri V B Raju

You see below, how much Air India wants to charge, If I cancel my ticket. When Central Government is advising the public that everybody should be at home and cancel all your journey’s/activities then why government is not taking initiation to support the people for free cancellation of the air tickets in all airlines, if government do so, public will be happy then country will be in safe position.

    Total Amount PaidRs. 13310Cancellation Charges(–)
    Airline Charges
    -Rs. 8245
    Other Charges
    Promo Discount, Meal, Insurance Fee
    -Rs. 1770
    Total Refund
    Rs. 3295Refund Details
    Refund Amount
will be credited to your bank within 5-14 working days
    Rs. 3335

  69. Ritu Gaur

Air Vistara is only offering full refund for f the bookings are made on or before 1Mar, which is completely unacceptable because the fear of corona is much more now v/s what it was on 1st week of March. They are not even allowing customers for sector change and with so much of inflexibility how do they think they will be able to serve customers. It’s a shame the way customers are treated in this part of the world in absence of strong customer centric governance. Not sure how why DGCA isn’t intervening.

  70. Shain Thakur

Please reschedule your tickets via indigo website. Its hassle free and completed within minutes. Only differential amount had to be paid.

  71. Lukjum gamlin

As 22 of march 2020 has been announced as an janta curfew day in spite of this can i take my scheduled domestic flight on 22 this month …. Please someone kindly help me to know .

  72. Ron

Government should take necessary action .. how can airlines think of cancellation charges during a pandemic.. if people r cancelling travel plans then it would benefit them as well as others.. govt as well as airlines should support it and not discourage it by coming up with various strategies to squeeze money..

  73. Karar Sofi

Airlines are squeezing through financial crunch and are ridiculously trying to suck it out from their customers. As Covid-19 deadly alarm is resonating all over the world so the government has to intervene and the customers should get their complete refund of money upon cancellation or else should be able to reschedule their tickets at any date of their convenience without even footing any extra penny !

  74. Sunil Gupta

Government should take necessary action .. how can airlines think of cancellation charges during a pandemic.. if people r cancelling travel plans then it would benefit them as well as others.. govt as well as airlines should support it and not discourage it by coming up with various strategies to squeeze money..I fully agree Govt should be strict and zero cancellation charges should be there

  75. Sheshraj

My booking is in air Asia on 22 march from New Delhi to Guwahati ..and that that day janta karfue.
I want to reschedule my booking ..so till which date I can reschedule it..

  76. Tejas

Same here … i also have a flight from BLR to BOM on Janata Curfew day .. airlines are not picking up the call nor giving any details if they will fly

Govt of India must give clear cut direction to all airlines.

All you people are crazy. Worried about cancellation charges. What will you gain by travelling. It is for your good first that you are not travelling. So stop thinking that you are doing a favour. Really all of you are selfish human beings and know how to just crib and crib and crib with no sense of responsibility

i was supposed to fly back to Mumbai from delhi on 15th march, i wrote an e-mail stating the current situation due to corona virus to HAPPY EASY GO but they refused to help me and pushed everything on to the GO AIR.

    Passengers Detail: ALOK VERMA*

    Trip #679722887934015506

    Old flight Details- G8-338 DEL(T2) 15 Mar, 2020 10:30 BOM(T1) 15 Mar, 2020 12:50

    New flight Details- G8-338 DEL(T2) 21 Mar, 2020 10:30 BOM(T1) 21 Mar, 2020 12:50

Rescheduling charges was almost double the price i booked the ticket for, whats the point of using such portals if they withdraw any support which is required in such pandemic situations.
i would urge all to not to use HAPPY EASY GO

spicejet is a horrible airline when it comes to customer service , in this emergency scenario, when the govt itself is requesting to waive off cancellation charges , the airline has not opened its mouth regarding waiving cancellation charges, its has put up a stupid clause for resheduling flights as well which is almost doiible that of what inhave paid. ticket cost is 5200/- and what i get after cancellation is 650/-. this airline will doom soon with this kind of arrogant attitude.

  95. K S BALASUBRAMANIAN

I had booked a ticket for 2 persons from coimbatore to Allahabad on Indigo scheduled on 26th March. I had to reschedule my journey due to COVID outbreak. Despite government orders ,I was charged extra fee for change of date.

I had booked 3 tickets for March 27 and back on 31 March by Air India from Mumbai to Mangalore and back thru Ease My Trip. It was booked on 16 Jan . Now when I m trying EMT they are not answering the call and trying to reschedule it asking for higher fare and dates beyond 26 May not to be seen. It is disgusting. It’s our hard money then why are they behaving in such a manner. They can very well reschedule our tickets without charging any fare difference if not cancelling. But they are least bothered about the passengers. Government should take some drastic steps against the Airlines. Everything is locked down then why airlines are not locked down. Please do something so that our money will be saved. In such a situation please do not take advantage.

I have booked 5 tickets on 21st March from Hyderabad to Chennai on indigo through happy easy go but because of corona outbreak I had to cancel my ticket because of which I lost all my money there was no refund
This was really unfair they didn’t even given me any
refund and even there was no date change option also
They should have cancelled the flight and should have refunded the money instead they r having Change flight option

I have booked 1 ticket from Bengalore to guwahati on 3rd may 2020.. But if epidemic continue can i get back my ticket charge fully? Plz response on this

  105. Ashok Singh

Inspite of their flight being cancelled, spicejet is charging for cancellation, they refunded me only 700rs out of 3896 rs which I have paid while booking. My flight date is 29march and I cancelled it today only after news of domestic flights suspension till 31st march
I was agree to travel but now airline don’t have any option but to cancel the flight still these guys are not willing to return the money. And also for rescheduling they are demanding 3196rs, almost booking a new ticket.
    Shame on you guys….

  106. Pranjal Kumar Laskar

Well Domestic flights can be operated as many of Indians can be tested for corona virus while travelling. So if anyone has COVID-19 Symtoms he/she shall not be permitted to fly. So if flights operates within the country so no govt have to force to test.

  107. Pratham Gupta

I had booked a ticket on Indigo Airline from Madurai to Raipur. The journey date was on 20th March, due to corona virus Chennai airport was seized and my flight was cancelled by the airline. In that message they have said that if you want you can take a plan B but no plan B was available, the only thing I could do is to cancell it from makemytrip from where I had booked my tickets attaching the cancellation of flight message from the Airlines. The total of my ticket was 4617 Ruppees and after the cancellation the are providing me 404 Ruppees refund. Is it a joke?

  108. Pavan

I booked indigo flight on 22nd March 2020 through goibibo, date come for boarding (24th March 2020) due to covid _19 outbreak I cancelled my booking directly from airline. (Indigo). At the time of cancellation indigo show they would Refund full money(no cancellation charges will be taken .I took screen shot also for same to maintain as proof , now goibibo has sent me cancellation invoice in which goibibo cut my all money as per before standard. But airline Refunded ( shown message at time of cancellation there are no deduction) me full money in their message at time of cancellation.

Now my point is this if airline giving full refund then why goibibo cut the charges for same while returning me. Does goibibo putting money in their pockets.?????????… if its like this so its cheating from goibibo to thier customers. On such occasion while people are suffering from panadamic disease. Even they are not answering calls to. Airline Refunding full money but goibibo don’t want give it to customers in return.

  109. Deepak Saikia

I have booked 4 tickets on 8 April by makemytrip on air India..but need to cancel because of Corona virus outbreak..I could not contact makemytrip or air India regarding my ticket cancellation and refund.. please help me..

As most of the tickets are booked for the summer vacation under LTC category, the passengers may not be able to carry out changes in schedule and travel before September as by then educational institutions would have commenced after summer vacations and Covid lockdown. (2) Further the employees may not get any leave post Covid lockdown recovery on account of the employees being refused leave as good amount of mandays are lost due to the lockdown. (3) Apart from this the LTC tickets were booked by converting the Home Travel Concession to LTC anywhere in India and this conversion benefit, as per DoPPT OM has to be availed before September 25th. (4) Not only this, the passengers would have availed advance from the employees: failure to produce the boarding passes on account of their inability to reschedule due to the above reasons would hit them very hard, as they would be forced to return the advances from their pockets. It is therefore requested that the DGCA issue clear directions to Air India to refund the tickets in full, instead of insisting for rescheduling in these circumstances

  111. Himanshu Jain

Pathetic way of forced operations by Indigo/Airasia/Spice jet even in view of Covid 19 lock down. Need full refund on cancellation as till date no full refund is showing while checking.

Will never fly across these Airlines ever in my life……

I planned for a vacation trip with my family from Chandigarh to Mumbai from March 28 to March 31 but due to this situation all domestic flights were cancelled and now I am forced for a Credit Shell from Indigo instead of full refund. They offered for a refund after deduction of cancellation charges which was not my fault.

Now I am no more willing to travel but Indigo is forcing me to travel back with same peoples to same destination in I need to utilize my amount otherwise I should have to forget the full refund.
