l What are the factors that
have led to an increase in the popularity of document management?

The September 11 episode acted as a catalyst in making more and more
companies aware about the advantages of document management, but there are other
factors that have also had an affect on the growth of this segment. These
include the rapid evolution of the personal computer in terms of processor speed
and memory, decrease in the cost of hard disks and scanners, and increase in the
capabilities and wide use of the web. All these factors put together have
accelerated the demand of document management as a technology.

l What is the current scenario
in the worldwide market in document management and what is your target for
India?

Worldwide, the market for document management solutions is predicted to grow
at a CAGR of 44% per annum for the next three years. The potential market in
India is above $1 billion and we are looking forward to garnering a major stake
in this.

l What is the USP of ViewWise
5.5, the product launched in India?

ViewWise has a feature rich functionality set. It uses DjVu, which helps in the
easy availability of documents on the Internet.

All these features are complemented by professional services that are offered
by our partners. Transferring documents from paper to the electronic medium is
not a one big leap, but involves a series of steps. As this product is available
in modules, users can add on as and when they require additional facilities.
