DirecPay, the payments solutions provider from TimesofMoney, now enables municipal bodies to collect taxes online. Municipal corporations can now make it easier for consumers to pay their taxes online.
With a marked shift in consumer behavior towards making payments and purchases online, paying of municipal taxes using this medium is a need that most corporations across the country have woken up to, given that it is a mutually beneficial option for both consumer and corporation. From the consumer point of view, the time-consuming, inefficient process of queuing up to pay local taxes can easily be done away with using this medium. Moreover, the likelihood of missing deadlines is that much lesser as the taxes/bills can be paid anytime and from anywhere.
For the corporation too there are significant upsides. Apart from reducing some of the cumbersome paperwork involved, it gives them an option to better utilize their already stretched personnel. Efficiencies of the online medium also mean faster collection of funds and an online repository of very useful data.
The state of Goa has been at the forefront of adopting this solution from DirecPay. With a successful deployment going live for the Margao Municipal Corporation (M.M.C) and the Corporation of the City of Panaji following suit, all the other 12 Municipal Corporations/Councils in the state are expected to be enabled by DirecPay very soon. Totaling to over 100 payment options, the DirecPay solution would help make the lives of citizens significantly easier. Maha Online, a website enabling e-governance and payments to the government of Maharashtra is another case in point for the successful deployment of the DirecPay solution.
