Going Digital – what does it mean to you and your organization?

Going digital is a key strategy that forms the core of our business model driven by the need of modern enterprise to be nimble and provide an accelerated pace of product and service innovation and drastically reduced product/service lifecycles from the inception of an idea to the development of the final prototype. Our digital transformation strategy is centered around the 5 pillars of ‘CAMSS’ – Cloud, Analytics, Mobile, Social, and Security.

Technology plays a very critical role in logistics space and has always been a key focus area in all our strategic business decision making and core operations which form the backbone of any logistics company. Since we have embarked on this journey quite sometime back we are already reaping the benefits of some of our Digital initiatives in the form of cost savings, improved efficiencies, better customer satisfaction, reducing in number of claims etc

What is your Digital Transformation plan, strategy and the deliverables you expect or are already coming in?

Our digital transformation plan looks at digitalization holistically across the entire business which includes our employees, customers and partner ecosystems.

Technology initiatives are centered around the 5 pillars of ‘CAMSS’ with focus on different internal business verticals. Our Digital strategy is centered around reducing human intervention wherever possible to help cut down on delivery handling timelines and reducing intercity transit times and ensuring visibility into the goods at all times. We use in-house IOT platform built around GPS data and  connected devices including the barcode scanners etc to predictive issues and detect fraud and thefts during goods movement. Our enterprise BI (business intelligence) platforms now provide us with a 360-degree view of our entire business.

We are working on few cutting-edge ML and AI uses cases around image recognition to detect seal breakages, tampered ‘Safexpress’ logos and dirty vehicle exteriors that impact our branding. We have digitalized most of the operations processes and have built an app called ‘Green App’ which has brought some of our core ERP processes on a mobile platform and resulted in huge operations efficiency gains in the range of 30%.
