As HP takes over most of Digital, the company begins delisting. Som Mittal becomes worldwide head for Application Services Operations of HP

The company will be officially christened HP Globalsoft during the second quarter of fiscal 2004-05

This was a year of major changes yet again for a company that has managed to survive and retain its identity through many takeovers. It survived as Digital after Compaq acquired it in 1998. It survived yet again as HP took over Compaq in 2002. Though HP's takeover of Compaq had given HP a 50.6% stake in Digital, it chose to leave the company alone. Last fiscal though, that changed. In January this year HP declared it would acquire all of Digital, it began de-listing almost immediately and by April 2004 HP owned over 98% in the company. Meanwhile, as HP's main services entity in India, in December 2003 Digital operationally took charge of HP-ISO's services arm with about 1,159 people. Legal transfer of the division, however, is yet to close. Despite all the flux though, with greater integration on the cards, parent company HP accounted for 95% of all revenues.
