This feature is likely to become important in a few days to ensure citizens travel freely within the country. Citizens, at present, have an option to either carry a negative RT-PCR report or display their COVID-19 vaccination certificates while travelling to other cities. A similar facility is being offered on the Aarogya Setu app as well. Those who have completed their vaccination can get a Blue Shield on the app.

How Can Those Who Have Completed COVID-19 Vaccination Generate CoWIN Pass on DigiLocker?

Citizens would be required to download the official Digilocker app from Google Play Store or Apple app store, and then follow these steps:

  • Open the official app on smartphones.
  • Go to the Ministry of Health and Family welfare icon available on the app.
  • Enter the beneficiary ID, which will be provided on the CoWIN portal or vaccination certificates.
  • Upon entering the beneficiary ID, the Cowin Pass will get generated in the 'Issued documents' section within a few seconds.

The CoWIN pass will display the name and age of the beneficiary, the name of the vaccine taken, the date of the day vaccine was taken, and a DigiLocker verified icon. This pass is unlikely to be provided to those who are partially vaccinated.
