DigiLocker is currently accepting online applications from developers who are graduates or post-graduates for a 6 to 12 months voluntary internship with the National E-Governance Division (NeGD) of the Indian Government. “The purpose of the internship is to provide an opportunity for individuals to substantively contribute to and learn from our work,” says DigiLocker on its website.

While the selected interns will not be paid a stipend and will be engaged on a voluntary basis, contributing to DigiLocker can be a rewarding way to learn, teach, help and build experience, says the website. Once selected, the intern will be expected to be flexible and will also have to provide a time-bound delivery of the assigned task.

Who can Apply for the DigiLocker Internship?

At present, there is a requirement for developers for front-end web development and back-end development. Developers with zero to two years of experience and knowledge and familiarity with the following Programming languages and framework can apply: CodeIgniter 3, Redis, PHP 7.2, Mongo db, Django, css, HTML 5, RabbitMQ, Python 3, Mysql, Jquery, AngularJS, and so on.

What Interns will Receive from DigiLocker After the Completion of Internship?

Upon successfully completing the internship, the interns will be rewarded with a certificate from DigiLocker. Those interested to apply need to note that no office space will be provided to selected interns and they will have to work from home on the OpenForge platform for collaboration and to submit their work for review.

Interested developers may apply online by logging in with their gmail accounts, and filling the Google form provided on the official website before 5 December 2020. The name and photo associated with the Google account will be recorded when applicants upload their files and submit the form. A resume will also have to be uploaded while submitting the online application. Those who wish to apply for the internship can fill the form provided on the official website, and enter the required information.
