The retail marketplace is the first of its kind, and is aimed to offer hands-on experience to consumers before they could actually make a purchase. A breakthrough initiative of Unique Infoways, HOT showcases close to 500 laptop and smartphone variants, and 100 LCD televisions.

HOT CEO Vipul Jain said that their initiative would facilitate consumers with the latest technology products and offer hands-on experience, as well as set a benchmark for the retail industry. "New supplies and latest technology products would be available without any delay," he added.

The company has initially invested Rs 25 crore into this project. "We are looking forward to replicate this in other cities with a population of 50 lakh or more," Jain said. The HOT mega stores, Jain said, would not be franchized. "This format will allow consumers a close interface with products' insights," he added.

Intel India MD for sales and marketing Debjani Ghosh believes that technology availability and usage is a challenge today. "The new marketplace will create more awareness among the consumers. Being strategically located, it will give us an opportunity to reach out to audience and derive huge benefits," Ghosh added.

HOT, which is India's first and largest 24*7 electronic mall, expects a footfall of around 12,000 and is targeting sales of close to Rs 250 crore during this fiscal period. The company also plans to organize exhibitions. It offers on the spot finance, post sales support, and live in-mall contests.
