Aadhaar Biometric Partners

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has selected Accenture,
Mahindra Satyam-Morpho and L1 Identity Solutions to implement the core biometric
identification system for the Aadhaar program. The program is designed to
confirm the identity of 1.2 bn residents of India, making it the largest
identity management program in the world.

Wink Enters India

Indias fledgling e-book reader business is set to gain a new player next
month with the unveiling of Wink, about two weeks before Amazon.coms latest
iteration of Kindle is launched. EC Media (International), a Bengaluru based
company that has been working on the product for the past year, plans to start
selling the Wink on August 15. EC Media has a tie-up with Ingram and has access
to at least 1,00,000 titles from various publishers. EC Media has also roped in
authors such as Ramachandra Guha and Mridula Koshy independently.
