Infosys Deals with Philips Brazil
Infosys BPO has announced its deal with Philips in Latin America. As a part of
the agreement, Infosys BPO will support a range of processes across Brazil,
Argentina, and Chile in the procure-to-pay, order-to-cash and record-to-report
areas such as accounts receivable, inter-company, foreign exchange, local
payments, and travel and entertainment expenses. Infosys BPO will provide
language support in English, Portuguese, and Spanish. These services will be
delivered from the newly inaugurated delivery center in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.
IBM Signs Deal with Safexpress
IBM will provide Safexpress, Indias largest supply chain and logistics company,
data center optimization and end user management services to over 500 Safexpress
points of presence across India as part of a five-year IT infrastructure
management services deal. Safexpress services 562 destinations all over India
with over 3,500 GPS enabled vehicles, providing express distribution, third
party logistics (3PL) services and supply chain consulting. IBM will provide
remote monitoring and management for Safexpress data center through its global
management center in Bengaluru.
IBM Wins Digicable Deal
IBM has signed a ten-year outsourcing deal with Indian cable and broadband
distribution firm Digicable with an initial outlay of Rs 380 crore. As part of
this agreement, IBM will support the integration of Digicables digital media
content delivery and value added services applications with its core business
technologies and processes. This integrated approach will enable Digicable to
provide superior and personalized service to its subscribers. IBM said it would
enable Digicable to manage its business processes better and help enhance
revenue per subscriber.

ITC Infotech Builds Reuters CoE
ITC Infotech has established a center of excellence (CoE) on testing and quality
assurance services for Thomson Reuters, around Thomson Reuters flagship risk
management software Kondor+. The CoE will support the launch of Thomson Reuters
new customer migration service, aimed at reducing the end-to-end cost and
time required for major risk management software upgrades.
Infy Powers Karnataka
Infosys has been selected to implement a Rs 387 crore IT project for Karnatakas
power distribution utilities. The project was awarded by all five electricity
distribution utilities in the state and will cover 100 towns. Infosys outbid ten
other companies, including TCS, for the contract. The projects must be
implemented within thirty-six months. The project is part of a central
government funded program to use IT to cap electricity losses in the country.
TCS and HCL Infosystems have won contracts for similar projects in West Bengal
and Rajasthan respectively.
HCLI Signs Gujarat Deal
HCL Infosystems has signed a Rs 110 crore contract with the Government of
Gujarat aimed at speeding development in the tribal districts of the state. The
project plans to cover over 7,000 schools in the state with over 1,000 schools
under tribal department and over 6,000 schools under education department. The
implementation process would initially take place in two districts out of eight
notified tribal districts, comprising of 150 schools each. Once carried out for
two months, it will then be extended to all remaining schools.
