Infy Powers British Energy
Infosys Technologies has announced that it has helped British Energy Power and
Energy Trading (BEPET) to adopt a Process Driven Architecture approach to
increasing efficiencies by aligning business processes with its IT
infrastructure. In response, BEPET reviewed its legacy IT systems to optimize
all business processes and achieve maximum efficiencies.
Mashreq Adopts Nucleus Flagship Product
Nucleus Software has implemented its flagship product FinnOne Finance
Against Securities (FAS) at 46 branches of Mashreq Bank. The implementation
would help Mashreq, the largest private bank in the UAE, to enhance its
turnaround time in approving loans against securities, determining and managing
the credit limit for a customer. FinnOne FAS is a solution that establishes
credit lines to individuals and corporates against the pledging of financial
securities like shares, debentures and units.
3i Infotech Bags LIC Contract
3i Infotech has bagged a contract from LIC to develop software that would
enable micro insurance agents to transact insurance business in online and
offline modes. LIC had invited bids for the software project about three months
back, and received responses from 14 companies. With the help of this software,
LIC will now be able to make this policy available to the rural and semi-urban
masses through its 10,000 agents, including NGOs, SHGs and micro-finance
institutions across the country.
ICC Deploys Irdeto Digital TV Solution
Irdeto, content security provider for digital TV, IPTV and mobile networks, and
Intermedia Cable Communication (ICC), cable television provider, has announced
that Irdeto will secure the deployment of a digital cable TV network across the
city of Pune. ICC will use Irdeto's content security solutions, including
next-generation Zeta Card smart cards with FlexiFlash technology, as it switches
from an analog to a digital cable network in Pune.
SanDisk Deploys MetricStream
MetricStream, a market leader in the enterprise-wide compliance and quality
management market, has announced that its MetricStream Quality Stream software
for Customer Quality Management and Corrective Action Request system is being
used by SanDisk. The deployed solution will be integrated with SanDisk's
current IT infrastructure. The deployed solution will handle customer quality
issues and complaints across the various operating geographies.
Vivento Implements Teradata
Teradata has announced the inclusion of Vivento Customer Services as its
customer using the business intelligence capabilities of Microsoft SQL Server
2005, including SQL Server 2005 integration services and SQL Server 2005
analysis services in combination with a Teradata enterprise data warehouse.
Key advantages include user acceptance, cost savings on BI tools and reduced
need for training courses due to the familiarity of the Microsoft Office 2003
user interface.
HDFC Selects Misys
Misys Treasury and Capital Markets have announced that HDFC Bank, recently named
as the best bank in India, has selected its award-winning solution, Misys Summit
FT to process interest rate derivatives. It was chosen because of the clear ROI
to HDFC Bank and its excellent reputation.
Cognizant Wins US Deal
Cognizant has won a multi-year IT contract from New York-based publishing
giant Simon and Schuster to provide end-to-end information technology
infrastructure management services that includes helpdesk, network management,
server management, application infrastructure support and desktop support.

Newgen Software Technologies has won contracts from seven banks in the
UAE to deploy its solution Cheque Truncation System. CTS promises to bring
