EPAM Systems has released DIAL 3.0, the newest version of its open-source Generative AI (GenAI) platform, further cementing its push into the AI transformation market. Unlike typical commercial AI solutions, DIAL 3.0 is designed for openness and modularity, offering organisations a way to build, deploy, and manage enterprise-grade AI applications without locking into a single vendor.
As model capabilities shift and AI regulations intensify, EPAM positions DIAL 3.0 as a way to accelerate value while staying flexible and compliant. Arseny Gorokh, Vice President of AI Enablement and Growth at EPAM, summed it up: “Many of our clients are at a strategic crossroads. DIAL was built to make that strategy real.”
Built for complexity, governed for control
DIAL 3.0 expands from its origins as an internal EPAM tool into a full-fledged enterprise AI framework. Global organisations across sectors like finance, healthcare, and retail now use it to operationalise GenAI at scale.
Key upgrades in DIAL 3.0 include:
-
DIAL XL (Expressive Logic): A natural language interface that allows both technical and non-technical users to create explainable AI workflows.
-
Mind Map Studio: A tool for building LLM-powered knowledge graphs from unstructured data.
-
QuickApps and ChatHub: Drag-and-drop components to rapidly prototype AI applications without coding.
-
Unified Marketplace: A single console for managing models, applications, and agents with enterprise-grade access control and cost tracking.
These features aim to address one of the most challenging aspects of AI adoption: transitioning from experimentation to production across an enterprise while maintaining transparency, traceability, and adaptability.
A platform that speaks the enterprise’s language
EPAM insists DIAL 3.0 is not just open source—it’s enterprise-ready. The platform operates under an Apache 2 license, integrates with major LLMs like OpenAI, Google Gemini, and AWS Bedrock, and supports hybrid deployments. It comes with built-in lifecycle governance tools, such as audit trails, cost analytics, and human-in-the-loop validation.
The platform also enables industry-specific use cases by offering vertical-ready modules, reducing infrastructure overhead and focusing on differentiation.
According to Ilya Gorelik, Vice President and Head of DIALX at EPAM, the goal is “to help organisations translate domain knowledge into deployable logic… whether you’re a compliance analyst, clinical researcher or operations lead.”
Real-world use, real-world trust
Altera Digital Health has been using DIAL since its early versions. Dr. Bob Taylor, the company's Chief Product Strategist, emphasised the trust factor: “What really convinced us about EPAM’s approach is the continued evolution of DIAL and their clear commitment to keeping the platform open and transparent.”
This trust is crucial at a time when businesses are still deciding whether to build AI tools in-house or depend on commercial platforms. DIAL 3.0 offers a hybrid path, one that balances structure with flexibility and innovation with control.
