CSIR India has invited applications for a nationwide online summer research training program. CSIR-NEIST will organize and conduct the Summer Research Training Program (CSIR-SRTP-2020). The program was recently announced by Dr G Narahari Sastry, director of CSIR-NEIST. Prospective students and even teachers who are selected will be able to carry out online summer research training during June and August 2020.
Who can Apply for CSIR Summer Research Training Program?
According to the official website, students in the first and second year of MSc, MTech, MCA, MPharm, BSc, BE and BTech can apply for the summer research training. Students are required to have an excellent academic record. Apart from students, even faculty below 40 years of age from recognized colleges can apply.
Candidates would be selected on the basis of merit and the quality of the project proposal. A write up on the research interest and statement of purpose will also have to be submitted in the online application. Applicants would be given a choice to select three CSIR laboratories, and the list of participating laboratories is available on the official website.
The subjects that are available for the summer research training are chemistry, biology, physics, engineering, data science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mathematics, geoscience, pharmacy and medicine. Shortlisted candidates will be intimated electronically.
Important Dates and Certification
The CSIR summer research training will be conducted by eminent scientists from the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research laboratories, and participants will also be mentored by the Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research professors. All participants will receive a certificate of participation and the top 5 projects will be awarded a certificate of merit. Those interested to apply for the training need to do so before 8 June 2020, and the results will be declared on 10 June.
