CSC Invites Applications for Free Online Course on Cybersecurity for School Students

As the world realises the importance of digital and is increasingly adopting technology, cybersecurity has now become more important than ever. Along the same lines, Common Service Centres (CSC) is offering a free online course on cybersecurity for school students. The program comes under Digital India and Transforming India Initiative. This course is aimed at school students in India who are above the sixth standard.

“On the occasion of CSC Bal Diwas, Get a free Cyber Security Course. Kindly contact the nearest CSC for free Cyber Security course only for students and children,” tweeted the official Twitter handle of Common Services Centres, a Government of India entity working under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). Over one lakh students have already registered for the free online course on cybersecurity.

What Will the CSC Free Online Course on Cybersecurity Cover?

The course will cover the basic dos and don’ts of cybersecurity, which school students are required to know. Apart from that, the following aspects will be covered:

• Cybersecurity
• Basic threats and vulnerabilities
• Additional threats and vulnerabilities
• Exploitation: Threats and vulnerabilities
• New trends in cyber threats and attacks
• The functioning of the internet and network layers
• Calculations: Computation to communication
• Essentials of cybersecurity and its technology.

How to Enroll for the CSC Free Online Course on Cybersecurity?

Interested students will have to contact their nearest CSC centre, which can be located on the official website and entering details such as state, district, and sub-district that the student lives in.
