CoWIN Users Get ‘Your Account Blocked For Exceeding Our Search Limit’ Message, Here’s Why

While CoWIN errors have been resolved, users are now getting “your account is blocked for exceeding search limit. Please read our terms and conditions”

CoWIN OTP errors have now been resolved for users trying to book their second dose of Covaxin. Viewers had been complaining that they were receiving “USRAUT0018” and “Generate OTP Failed” messages while trying to book their second dose. However, while this issue is being addressed, viewers have been facing another problem.

Several beneficiaries have been locked out of their accounts after multiple attempts were made from their end while trying to book slots on the CoWIN platform. All such users are now receiving the following message: “your account is blocked for exceeding search limit. Please read our terms and conditions”. Until this date, there has been no mention from the Government of India on the number of times users can search for slots on CoWIN.

“I am also facing the new error “errorCode”:”USRAUT0030″, “error”: “Your account is blocked for exceeding our search limit, please read our terms of service.” Does anybody have an idea how much time they take to solve this problem?” asks Sakshi Yadav on Dataquest. “I am now getting the message as “Your account is blocked for exceeding our search limit. Please read our terms of service”. Where are their terms mentioned on login? How can a government develop such an app without mentioning terms to their users? Now how are I and my family supposed to get vaccinated for 2nd dose? asks Saurabh.

Why Does CoWIN Display Your Account Blocked For Exceeding Our Search Limit’ Message?

Earlier today, a viewer brought to our notice that this particular functionality may have been introduced to block auto-bots or bad agents from automatically booking slots on CoWIN. The platform, however, may be confusing genuine users trying to book slots repeatedly with bots. “As per the helpline number 1075, the error is due to multiple login attempts. They mentioned during my interaction that if we don’t try logging in till 24 hours, the error will resolve by itself. The root point still remains, if someone is not getting the slot, then they will try multiple times. Thus instead of blocking auto bots/hackers they have started blocking genuine users as well. Bad technical implementation by the team who has built this app,” said Manish Nair to Dataquest.

“I got a phone call from CoWIN support that my number was banned because I generated 200 OTPs in one day and this is Unnatural. I told him this is natural only since there are no slots and I need to try hundreds of times every day,” said Bhavesh Joshi.

How to Unblock Account on CoWIN Portal?

The only options available to unblock CoWIN accounts are to either wait for the issue to resolve by not attempting to log in or generate OTPs for a few hours at least or call 1075. Although, citizens have been complaining that the helpline numbers either do not take calls or have no satisfactory responses when they do answer the following helpline number has been offering some resolutions: 0120447322.

    I am Facing Same type of problem from last two days and there is no any clear answer from CoWin help center. My Second dose Date is from 1st June to 15 June.

I mean this is utter nuisance, I’m waiting for you to pick and answer my calls and resolve the issue and ur giving me this stupid answer… I have to get 2 members of my family vaccinated and since 3 days I’m getting problems first with the error and now number of attempts exceeded… please advise if u have a solution to this problem

Please try again after sometime”, and now it’s showing “Your account is blocked for exceeding our search limit, please read our times of service”. How am I supposed to book for second dose now? My 2nd dose of covaxin is already due and expire on 16th June.

      I just talk to the technical help line no. They said that do not try to login for 24 hrs (from last try), it will be resolved.

    I have a same issue about account blocked, I have tried calling the helpline numbers and no one is picking the phone, everyday we are loosing hope to get vaccinated for 2 dose of covaxin. I would urge authorities to look into it and provide a necessay relief to the citizens. We pay so heavy taxes every year and we get no facility from any
    Govt this is a shame.

    Hi I too have this problem from yesterday your account is blocked for exceeding so many times if we do not open cowin it doesn’t book our slot we have to be online max n wait for otp how can they block the account now how ill book for other members slots please suggest or unblock as need to book slot for senior citizen n other member too .solve the problem please

Firstly they mention that “Generate OTP Failed” and then “exceeded search limit try after sometime” and after that “your account is blocked for exceeding your search limit. Please read our terms and services “ and there is nothing mention about terms and services. So how can i book my appointment for 2nd dose of covaxin.

    Facing same issue from last 48 hrs. no one available to resolve concern.. no update or resolution from team or numbers shared they updated only error message reflecting from ” Generate OTP Failed” to ” Your account is blocked due to Exceeding search”. Is there any person who can look after issue and resolve it genuinely. My vaccine second dose is due on 12/06/21…

    Oh man I am so so upset by this account blocking thing!!! Y did they made such a website/app ,They never mentioned any Terms and conditions In the starting,Its so So frustrating for a layman…. I just hope This issue gets resolved fast, before our dose 2 time limit gets expired.

    Facing same issue of account blocked from last 2 days . Helpline numbers has just one response “team is working on same “and we don’t know by when it will be resolved . Called multiple times emailed them but they do not have resolution in place . Terms and condition are silent on same . They are just checking individual patience in this hard times .

    I am facing the same the issues since 2 days, i have called on emergency number 1075. They said the account cannot be unblocked. I will have to visit the hospital that gave us 1st dose. Now the issues are-
    1. The same hospital says they don’t have covaxin and also they are not giving walk-in vaccines
    2. Without appointment slip, the police is not allowing us to go for vaccination.

    How do we resolve this?

    Please do not try to generate OTP for few hours and the issue got resolved for me. I didn’t operated mine since 1 pm yesterday and later on the night at around 12 I was able to login again. So may be currently this is the only way out

      Thanks for updating your comments. After seeing your comments, I have some hope that we will register for second dose.

      I tried to generate OTP today morning at 5:30. Since that time, I was not tried again.

      Hope, It will work after 24hrs.

    I am facing same error from 08th June evening. And everytime i call the technical helpline 0120-4473222, stupid and untrained females there waste 5-6 minutes taking my details and when i tell my problem they just say like a voice record that its a technical issue and will resolve in next 2hrs.

    I am also facing the same problem of blocked your accounts for attempting exceeding limits and customer care are not at all supportive they said only the scripted line that you need to wait for some hours and issue is resolved but i am waiting from last 55 hours and still not getting any resolution.

    They told me to remove the browser’s cache/cookies, restart the phone, then wait for 2 hours. Wondering what magic will happen after 2 hours. Didn’t work for me. Still get the same error.

    I mean how can exceeding limit error appear? An individual has to keep searching for the slot. We are logged out… by default! Please resolve this phone number blocking issue. You want us to get vaccinated right? Please resolve these bugs. They are very frustrating issues. Just causing or adding to more trouble for a common soul

    Firstly I received OTP issue and now exceeding limit so number blocked. But this exceeding limit occurred only because of limited slots. Please solve this issue before the 2nd dose of vaccin got expired. In the website no resolution is written or till what time should I wait for resolution please mention. The customer care executives don’t have any answer for anything. That just record details for no use at all.

    I had this problem as well and got similar replies from service helpline.

    What worked for me – do not try login attempt for 12 hours and it worked .

    Here in Kerala, they don’t let us know when the slots open and once it’s open it will run out in seconds so only way to get slots is to keep on trying, but now my account is blocked. What to do,? I shouldn’t have taken 1st dose.

    Those who are facing the issue of error or not receiving OTP due to search limit exceed ….. within 24 hrs the issue will be solved by itself don’t try to generate OTP for 24hrs……even I was facing the same issue on 9 June but today I’m receiving OTP nd I was able to search for slots……..

    My registered names have just got disappeared from the app. When I tried to add it again, it say you are already registered. Can anyone help me resolve this issue.

    Guys don’t worry if your account is blocked there is an alternative way to register your first dose. You can register using another number with your Aadhaar or any other identity proof and get your vaccination booked. Currently there are no system in place to track you through duplicate aadaar number .The issue is however for second dose and registering with new number wouldn’t show up your first dose details and unfortunately you will have to wait for 24 to 48 hours until they unblock your account.

      You cannot register using another number. The system is smart enough to detect. It says beneficiary is already registered.
