Solix Technologies, that recently launched new data cloning solutions is
subsequently working on adding specific industry capabilities. "We are
working with i-flex for banking and financial verticals. We are also working on
dairy products and foods industry segments," says Dinendra Joshi, VP,
Global Software Delivery, Solix.
MB to Raise $150 mn
Optical storage device maker Moser Baer (MB) India has said that its board had
approved raising up to $150 mn. The money, to be raised through debt or equity,
would be used to fund the company's expansion plans.
ValueLabs' New Wing
Hyderabad-based ValueLabs is investing around Rs 4 crore to start a separate
company within ValueLabs to take its CSR program ahead. CEO, ValueLabs, Arjun
Rao's mantra to start the CSR wing is to `build a structured approach with a

United Micro's New Plans
United Microelectronics will start producing computer processors by 2009 to
catch up with market leader Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. United
Microelectronics is in talks to make central processing units as the company
diversifies into new products to boost earnings.
Fiserv to Up Headcount
Fiserv India, a global entity of Fiserv Inc, has announced that it will increase
its headcount in the country to 5,000 in the next two years from the current
level of 1,000. The company is focused on becoming the preferred partner for
offshore services.
HCL to Set up 100 CDCs
HCL Infosystems will set up hundred career development centers (CDCs) across
India in 15 months to transform students into ready professionals. Of the
proposed hundred centers, twenty would be the company's own branch centers
while the others would operate under franchise agreements.
Cognizant to Recruit More
Software firm Cognizant Technology Solutions will be recruiting about 18,000 IT
professionals before the year-end in addition to the present 38,000 workforce.
The company is taking multi-pronged approach to redress the constraint of
quality people.

Aditi Technologies will add 100 people in Bangalore in the next three months.
The current headcount at Bangalore is 400 people and around 200 people in the
US. The company is apparently also excited about the emerging opportunities in

companies.
