i-flex Sets Up Greek Arm



i-flex Solutions has set up a subsidiary, i-flex Solutions SA, in Athens,
Greece, in partnership with Fourlis Group, a holding house of Greece. It will

provide access to skilled local professionals who will support future

deployments in the region. This subsidiary will allow i-flex to develop

alternative talent pools, especially in Romania and Greece.

TCS to Invest Rs 400 cr in AP



TCS will be setting up a campus in Hyderabad at an estimated cost of Rs 400
crore, chief financial officer, S Mahalingam said. It has signed an MoU with the

Andhra Pradesh government, under which the government will acquire 75 acres of

land near the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport for the campus. The campus at

Adibatla would be part of SEZ.

AXAAN Launches B2C Portal



The Gurgaon-based AXAAN Systems has announced the launch of a
business-to-consumer (B2C) portal, Cafegadgets.in. The site offers CD/DVD

drives, PDAs, mobile phones, storage drives, desktop PCs, digital cameras,

motherboards, iPods, laptops and CPUs. Leveraging its direct tie-ups and

arrangements with leading IT manufacturers and vendors, the portal cuts costs at

various levels of distribution, resulting in significant price reduction.

IBM Opens Goa Operations



IBM India has begun operations in Goa. This expansion is part of the company's
plan to enter fourteen new cities in the country. "Opening operations in

Goa is an example of IBM's continued commitment to working closely with SMBs

throughout India. There is an untapped market here," said Ramesh Narasimhan,

director, Global SMB, IBM India.

Perot Systems to Hire Indian Docs, Nurses



Perot Systems, the $2.3 bn US-based information technology company, will
hire Indian doctors and nurses to implement information technology solutions in

hospitals in India and abroad. Peter Altabef, president and CEO, Perot Systems,

said the doctors would not practice medicine, but be involved in IT

implementation in hospitals.

Logitech to Launch Non-IT Peripherals



Logitech Electronic India has decided to reposition itself from an IT
peripheral company to an innovative peripheral player. It has decided to roll

out a bouquet of non-IT peripherals in home and personal entertainment. It

expects non-IT peripherals to be prime growth drivers of the company in India.

New product launches will be supported by a mega branding campaign to hit the

market by September.

L&T to Hive off IES Business



L&T, which hived off its information technology business into a separate
subsidiary as L&T Infotech in the 1990s, is considering to float a similar

outfit for its integrated engineering services business. The new entity is

likely to be carved out from the parent company in around two years time, when

the business acquires a critical mass.

IronPort for R&D in India



IronPort Systems, a provider of e-mail and Web security products, which is being
acquired by Cisco in an $830-mn deal, is setting up a captive R&D center in

Bangalore. The center would be part of Cisco's upcoming campus and will have a

team of some seventy-five engineers in the first year of operations.

Megasoft's BlueAlly



Megasoft has said that it has launched a new division, BlueAlly, which will work
with clients to develop their IP and patent their technology. Megasoft, which

recently acquired VisualSoft Technologies in a stock swap, expects BlueAlly to

contribute Rs 150 crores in revenues in 2007.

Syntel Plans New Center



Syntel will build a new software development center in 29 acres near Chennai
with the first phase to come up by June 2008 at Siruseri SEZ at a cost of $20 mn.

The US-based company with development centers in India has also set up a

700-seat center.

CA's Mid-market Biz Unit



Computer Associates (CA) has announced the formation of a mid-market and
storage business unit focused on companies. The new business unit will deliver

CA solutions for this market through CA's reseller, channel-enabling partners

to capitalize on the $10 bn opportunity from around 66,000 such companies

worldwide.

NetXen to Pump $5 mn



NetXen will inject around $5 mn in its Pune center by 2009, thereby increasing
its resource pool here from twenty-six to hundred people in three years. It

would also be launching RDMA enhanced version of Intelligent NICT next month.

GTL on Buyback of Shares



Network services provider GTL has received board's approval for a buyback
of shares worth Rs 275 crore at Rs 300 per share, subject to shareholders'

approvals. The company proposes to buy around 9.17 mn shares, which represents

9.45% of the company's paid up capital and 8.62% of its fully diluted capital.

Infosys Now in Czech



Infosys Technologies has announced that it has set up a 400-seat facility in
Brno, Czech Republic, to provide BPO as well as IT services to its clients in

Europe. This, along with its large offshore centers in India and the center in

China, will give it an expanded global network.

ICS Center in Melbourne



Infinite Computer Solutions has announced the commencement of its Australia
operations with the setting-up of its office in Melbourne. It will play an

integral role in its goal to be a $ 300 mn company by 2009-2010.

iYogi Raises $3 mn Fund



iYogi, provider of live computer support on phone and remote access from India
for SOHO users, has announced that the company has received $3.1 mn in series

financing. Canaan Partners have invested collectively in iYogi. The investment

will accelerate iYogi's growth and customer acquisition.

Secova Plans 2nd Center



Secova eServices has announced its plans to open its second knowledge center in
Chennai, and increase its headcount from the current 300 to over 400 by end of

December 2007. Secova has added twelve new clients over the past one year,

including 4 Fortune 500 companies.
