A “quick” alternative to JEE Mains and JEE Advanced 2020 could be misused as a precedent to dilute the entire admission process to the IIT system, which can prove to be harmful in the long run, he added. "It could be misused as a precedent to dilute the entire admission process to the IIT system which may prove to be harmful for the quality of undergraduate education at the IITs. I urge the aspirants to take it up as a challenge and show their mettle and sincerity to the world," said Virendra Kumar Tewari.

“The aspirants need to put their faith in organizing bodies who have been working incessantly to offer a safe environment towards the logistical requirements for holding these examinations under the current situation,” he said while assuring students that necessary facilities have been arranged to ensure social distancing amidst students and even facilitation for probable asymptomatic cases. " I understand the apprehensions but would encourage the aspirants to adapt to the new normal and strive for a brighter future," he stated.

IIT Kharagpur Director also added that students must focus their energies on preparing for the examinations in the time that is left, and urged them to utilize the resources and study material that have been made available by the Ministry of Education. In the meanwhile, the National Testing Agency released admit cards of JEE Mains 2020. The admit cards of NEET 2020 will also be released shortly and the NTA has ensured that more than 99% candidates get their first choice of Centre Cities in both of these examinations.

NTA says that the number of examination centers have also been increased from 570 to 660 in case of JEE Mains and 2546 to 3843 in case of NEET 2020. JEE Mains and NEET 2020 are scheduled to be held 1 to 6 September 2020, and 13 September 2020, respectively, amidst calls for postponement.
