The  first

International  Conference  on

COMmunication  System  softWAre

and  MiddlewaRE

(COMSWARE)  was held

in New Delhi from January  8-12,

2006. It was inaugurated by Union Minister for Science and Technology, Kapil

Sibal. Dataquest and VOICE&DATA were the



official media partners for the conference. 


One of the keynote speakers, Dr Alfred Spector, CTO and VP of Strategy and
Technology, IBM spoke on 'IT meets telecom, the next generation'. Dr Jai

Menon, corporate director and group CIO, Bharti Tele-Ventures spoke on

'Utility computing execution model for the telecom industry'. Prof. Henning

Schulzrinne, chairman, Department of Computer Science, Columbia University, US,

talked on the challenge of network complexity.



COMSWARE 2006 also included three plenary talks by Dr Giridhar Mandyam,
director, NOKIA Research Center, US. He spoke about “Where is wireless access

going? Dr Nikhil Jain, CTA, QUALCOMM, India gave a talk on “The BREW System (A

vision for the next generation cottage Industry)” followed by the plenary talk

by Dr Ravi Jain from Google, US. 



COMSWARE's Business Track, COMSBIZ was held on January 9 2006. It provided
deep insights of top executives of successful communications technology

enterprise based in India, North America, and Europe. In  addition,

it was a forum devoted to essential information on market  trends,

emerging technologies, business initiatives, and intellectual property

strategies.
