The Indian operations of CA remained relatively insulated from the parent's
predicaments, as it registered a 65% growth in domestic business. The Hyderabad
IDC expanded to house 1,000 people. Deployment of its flagship brand Unicenter
across 150 sites bore ample testimony to its sucess. PNB, Hughes Software, TCS,
NIIT and IDRBT were among the significant clients.
SMBs was the new focus area for CA especially for its ArcServe and Identity
Management solutions-it also brought into its fold new channel partners to
target this sector even as it bagged big clients. The Hyderabad IDC focused on
management software, on demand computing, wireless, and Web services while the
Chennai tech support center handled storage for customers worldwide. The CA-Satyam
JV prospered adding Gujarat and Maharashtra RTOs as customers.
