Compliant Offerings

Bengaluru based Infolog Solutions has developed two unique solutionsSEZSOFT
and EOSoftto serve the needs of businesses operating in the special economic
zones (SEZs) and export oriented units (EOU).

"Though the business parks facilitate companies to carry out their business
operations with ease, the units or businesses still have to follow various
compliances, regulations, and statutory rules of the government which involve
lots of documents, procedures, and paper work," says R Shanker, general manager,
Infolog Solutions.

"The compliance and regulations include applications to registrars, approvals
and licenses, tax and customs certificates, goods procurements, warehousing and
shipment documents, and various others. Hence, this situation demands dedicated
software solutions which can facilitate companies in adhering to the compliance
and regulations as well as support the business operations," Shanker explains.

In terms of features, it provides user access control, data uploads, work
flows, documentation with automated email alerts, live dashboards for
monitoring, automatic debit and credit limit system, shipment tracking tool, bar
code and radio frequency identification (RFID) interface, and many more.

These solutions bring in a high amount of automation for the businesses, and
can easily get rid of manual paper work and procedures. The key aspect of these
solutions is that these can be used by any unit operating in the business zones
as well as by the developers of such zones.

"Both SEZSOFT and EOSoft are developed on .NET technology and SQL Server
database by our thirty-five plus members software development team. The
solutions can easily be installed with any existing system used by the
companies. Hence, this helps in data exchange and data de-duplication," says G
Jagdish, deputy general manager, development, Infolog Solutions.

Each of the solutions is designed as per the SEZ and EOU specifications and
requirements. For the users, the company provides onsite and offsite training
and support.

Apart from the management of compliance and regulation norms, the solutions
have others modules such as e-procurement, import-export compliance, asset and
inventory management. Overall, it saves time, and adds efficiency in business
operations due to the automated procedures.

Infolog Solutions is also offering SEZSOFT and EOSoft on the
software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform. In terms of software license fees, it is
using per facility/location per module model.

According to Shanker, the new solutions are presently being used by some
fifteen odd clients including APC, Honeywell, Accenture, Texas Instruments, ADP,
Robert Bosch, and Wipro. The company is also in talks with Gujarats top
shipping port.

With some 1,500 business parks around the country, Shanker hopes to increase
the clientle by forty in the next two years.
