Coinbase to hire over 1000 in India; to ramp up Web3 community

American cryptocurrency exchange platform, Coinbase will hire over 1000 people for the India hub this year, stated CEO Brian Armstrong in the company blog. The exchange platform's India hub was launched last year and employed 300 full time employees too.

"India has built a robust identity and digital payments infrastructure and implemented it at rapid scale and speed. Combined with India’s world class software talent, we believe that crypto and web3 technology can help accelerate India’s economic and financial inclusion goals," Armstrong further wrote.

Coinbase Ventures, the investment arm of Coinbase investing in early-stage crypto and blockchain startups, has invested $150 million in Indian tech companies in the web3 domain. Coinbase Ventures has partnered with crypto incubator Builders Tribe to build and host the crypto community in India, and are hosting a startup pitch on April 8th.

Brian Armstrong is in India currently interacting with the team.
