Cisco appoints Jeff White as president, India and SAARC

Cisco today announced its new leadership in India appointing Jeffrey M White to head its India operations. White was introduced today as the President of India and SAARC, assuming leadership for Cisco's sales and operations in the region, in addition to leading the India Board. Prior to this position, he was the VP. Service Provider Business for the APJC region.

The post was previously held by Naresh Wadhwa, who has been Cisco's CEO and president, India since 2007. He has quit the company and plans to start his own venture with a focus on technology infrastructure.

White revealed to Data Quest, "I have visited India at least 40 times in the last 4 years as I've always wanted to work closely with the country. I have worked in the US, India and other parts of Asia and I believe that the talent we find here is a step ahead. He added that he believes that India has a great potential because of massive urbanisation, young demographic, rise of the middle class ans public sector spending.

White will report to Jaime Valles, president of Cisco Asia Pacific, Japan and Greater China (APJC), partner with Faiyaz Shahpurwala, senior VP, Industry Solutions and India site leader and work closely with Wim Elfrinkexecutive VP, industry solutions and chief globalisation officer.
