The CBSE Class 12 and Class 10 board examinations 2023 are being held in over 7250 test centres across India and 26 locations worldwide from 15 February to 5 April. The Central Board of Secondary Education issued a statement stating it will take drastic action against individuals who disseminate rumours and false information concerning the board examinations.

"It has come to the Board's attention that certain unscrupulous individuals are constantly propagating rumours on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and other social media platforms concerning paper leaks or claiming access to question papers for the 2023 examinations," the statement said.

"These individuals, groups, and services attempt to defraud naive pupils and parents by demanding money in exchange. Such reckless behaviour causes uncertainty and alarm among pupils and the general public, "According to the CBSE notification.

Decisive action will be taken against those who disseminate false news concerning board examinations

According to the letter, the board periodically notifies the Delhi Police Special Cell (MAC) to take decisive action against those involved in disseminating false news via social media platforms under different IPC and IT Act articles. Also, a student detected distributing fake news will be prosecuted under the 'Unfair Means' guidelines and several sections of the IPC. "Parents are also advised to guide their kids not to accept such stories and not engage in any such behaviour that impedes the smooth conduct of board examinations," according to the warning.

The CBSE notification urged that the public respect the integrity of the board exams and refrain from spreading false information. In conclusion, it is crucial to remain vigilant against the spread of misinformation and false rumours, particularly during times of crisis. By taking a stand against such misinformation, CBSE plays an essential role in promoting accurate information and ensuring the public's well-being.
