CBSE Issues Advisory Against Fake Information on Social Media Platforms

CBSE has taken cognizance of the rising number fake news being circulated on social media platforms, and has advised students to avoid sharing the same

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a new advisory regarding the fake news and frivolous information on social media platforms like Facebook, Youtube, and Twitter, as well as some news platforms. CBSE has confirmed that the CBSE Board Exam 2020 for classes ten and twelve will begin as stated on 15 February 2020.

“It is being noticed that that certain unscrupulous elements intend to spread rumors by hosting fake videos/messages on News platforms/ Social Media platforms like YouTube, FaceBook, Twitter, etc. to spread confusion and panic amongst students, parents, schools and the general public,” says the advisory from the Central Board of Secondary Education.

CBSE has also warned the mischievous elements involved in creating and circulating fake information to refrain from doing so. The board has also said that in case any such information comes to the notice of the Central Board of Secondary Education, immediate remedial action as necessary and measures as per provisions of the law will be taken to punish the people involved.

Students and parents also have been advised to not believe in such rumors, and co-operate with the board by not participating in spreading of rumors and also not believing in baseless information. The CBSE Board Exam 2020 for class ten students will be held from 15 February to 20 March 2020, and from 15 February to 30 March 2020 for class twelve students.
